Chapter 1 - Lilies and Daisies.

I dreamed of running fields, drinking water from a little pool, becoming older by the second.

every apprentices dream.

...

"BIRDPAW WAKE UP!"

I shook my head, seeing Sunpaw waiting for me.

She pushed me. "Were gonna be late for training! Its our first day of combat, remember?" Sunpaw asked.

I shook my head, clearing the blur from my eyes. "Yeah... Tell Lilacstar ill be there in a second..." I yawned. I was not ready for training today. I blinked the sleepiness from my eyes and stretched my front paws out.

I looked outside the den, Sunpaw was already waiting for me with Lilacstar.

I got outside, looking at everyone in the clearing, sharing tongues, sharing prey, and chattering about clan things. I scoffed and went over to Lilacstar.

Lilacstar stared at me for a good moment then spoke, "Come on now, Sunpaw, Birdpaw. We don't want to be late." Lilacstar nudged me forward and walked in front of the two of us.

"Someone's a bit feisty today, eh?" Sunpaw said.

"Oh please, do you ever shut your mouth?" I growled.

Sunpaw chuckled and trotted after Lilacstar, I grumbled and looked down.

We had made it to the Ice closure, Sunpaw looked excited. I grumbled, this was not what I wanted today.

"First," Lilacstar started, "Swipe your paw like this." She swiped her paw at the chilly air. We did as we were told.

"This is a very easy attack to dodge," Lilacstar stated. "You can simply duck your head down."

She gave an example of how to dodge the attack.

"I would like to see what you guys know, Sunpaw, go on the left. Birdpaw, go on the right." She smiled.

I went over to my side, and Sunpaw went to hers. I looked at Lilacstar. She nodded, and I striked to Sunpaw. I slashed my paw like Lilacstar showed me, she quickly used the dodge Lilacstar showed her. I tried pinning her down, but fell on my side, giving a perfect strike to Sunpaw, who had pinned me down. I tried pushing her off, but it wouldn't work.

"Use your hind legs, Birdpaw." Lilacstar told me. I listened, pushing Sunpaw off the other way. She charged at me, but I would run behind her, dodging her planned attack.

"You guys did well." Lilacstar smiled.

I looked around. I've never seen our landscape this pretty before.

Red leaves.

White flowers.

Leaf piles to jump in.

Small little ponds.

This was what my dreams were as a kit.

Sunpaw had nudged me and jumped in a leaf pile.

"Cmon!" She chuckled. I'd giggle, running towards her and pouncing on her playfully. Just as me and Pondkit did.

We rustled the leaves, rolling in the crispy autumn that lays beneath us.

We had runned in the little small ponds across the small little field.

Sunpaw stopped, sniffing at a little flower.

"Bleech," Sunpaw replied. "Smells gross."

She picked it from the earth and made a little pile of daises.

"Lend me a paw, would cha'?" she asked. I chuckled, helping her find daises throughout the small field.

I spotted a little cricket. Getting in a crouch, I pounced on it, I thanked starclan for the small little bug, then crunched on it. It was weird and crunchy, but also satisfying. I looked over, seeing Sunpaw had already expanded the pile by many. I'd go over, we giggled together, then Lilacstar came up to us.

"Ready to get back to your training?" She smiled at us.

"Yep!" I said, full of energy. This was a big change from the morning.

She chuckled. "Well come on then," she cooed. "There is no time to waste."

Me and Sunpaw talked on the way back, watching the birds in the sky pass by as we trained till the sun was almost down.

"That was a blast!"

"I know right?"

Me and Sunpaw talked about our training.

"Why are you guys so excited about your training today anyway?" Graypaw asked.

"Yeah, what Graypaw said." Shardpaw followed.

"Nothing," I said. "Just every dream I've ever wanted."
