"Good morning class, let me introduce you to the new student!" Oh, we never have new students. What is going on? I grabbed bottle of water and waited for this new student to walk in. I drank it at one go. Doors opened and teacher said, "Oh here he is. Introduce yourself, Kyle." I choked on the water and spat it on the desk. What the fuck is he doing here?! My heart sank, and my body froze as I watched boy who broke me when I was 15. I could recognize these dark brown eyes from the distance. He smirked at me with his empty face. His eyes were pitch black, and his blond hair was glued with a gel. I should've spat on him.

"Hi class, I am Kyle Peterson. I am 19. I am from San Francisco, and I hope I am welcomed here!"

He hasn't changed since then. The same disgusting smirk and face that somehow, I fell for. I avoided eyeing him, and stared at mess I made on the desk.

"Thanks, Kyle, sit in your seat!"

He sat on a seat next to me, looked at me, smiled, and said, "Hi!"

How he dares to still talk to me, after everything? I pretended no one said anything to me and kept quiet. My heart was burning and sinking at the same time. This can't be real. I heard Leon's friends quietly laughing. I rolled my eyes and looked straight at the board.

Leon walked into the classroom late, as always. His hair was messy, he seemed so exhausted. What's happening in his life and his mind? I always wondered.

He sat in his seat behind me and threw the backpack on the desk.

The teacher never bothers that he arrives late. The way they treat him annoys me and they know they can't do anything about it, so they just let him be him.

"Who's absent?"

"I think only Jolene!"

"Where is she?" Leon asked.

"I don't know. We haven't heard from her! She was not responding to my calls."

"She probably missed the alarm and didn't wake up. No need to worry," Xavier added.

I noticed Leon's nervousness in his behavior. He couldn't stop fixing his hair, playing with the pencil, and his legs were shaking. My intrusive thoughts told me to turn around and ask, "Are you okay?"

Words came out of me so shyly that I was not sure he even heard me.

Talking to him was never a case. Just one question made me nervous and hard to speak.

I never cared about him, but I just couldn't look at someone being anxious without asking them how they are. I was pretty sure something was not right.

"Why do you care?" His head was laying low, and he was afraid to look at me.

"If you're worried about Jolene, don't worry. I saw her this morning. She was with her mother outside of her yard. I am sure she is okay." I told him.

He looked at my eyes, "I don't care!"

It was raining outside. Teacher was dully talking about the things no one listened to, and room was quiet.

Minutes passed, and the school bell finally rang. I gazed back at Leon and his body became calmer and he was even writing notes down.

"I think you did care." I whispered at him. He ignored my words, and I looked back at the board. I hate him so much. I'm never helping him again.

Class ended and as a typical me, I was the slowest person to pack books back in a backpack.

"LEOON COME HERE, YOU'RE MISSING A FIGHT!"

"YOO WHAT?!!!" Leon responded and ran out of classroom. He left his backpack and books on the desk.

I took a few steps forwards and opened the notebook that was placed on the desk. I thought of returning it to him, but he didn't deserve it. There were some poems written. I at once closed it. It's private things. But he left them here, so they aren't private anymore. I turned around to leave the classroom, but I went back and opened the notebook again.

What is this?

"Why are you so pretty?"

Eh, I don't want to read some cheesy stuff about Jolene.

"List of people I wanna get rid of."

Let me see am I on this list? Reading I came to the name "Jolene". What?? Why her? Since when he has hated her? The list was long and at the end of the note, few names were scratched. He removed some of these people from the list. Then there was my name at the end of the note. Just wait two years and you'll get rid of me, Leon.

Suddenly someone took a notebook from my hands.

"What the fuck are you doing?!"

I turned around, and I saw Leon's face in front of me. He was getting closer, and my breath was gone. His gaze was directly staring at my eyes, and I couldn't hold it for a second.

He was pissed as fuck.

He threw a notebook on the desk, and still kept eye contact with me. His eyes were telling me to look at them, they were speaking more words than his lips. My butt was lying on the desk because he was getting so close to me. I had nowhere to go. His face was just a few inches away from me. He placed his hands on the desk, trapping me in them. I felt every breath from his mouth on me, and smell of his fragrance was all over me. "Why are you touching my things?" He asked.

"I can ask you the same question. Why were you touching me?"

"It's not your permission to touch them!"

"Neither is your permission to touch me."

"I am not touching you right now." The fresh smell whispered onto me as his body was approaching me closer. It felt like he was putting spells on me.

"Can you move out of my way?" I barely stuttered.

"No. I won't."

I was frightened, but also, I didn't want to leave the position I was in.

"Are you embarrassed that I saw a poem about Jolene and all these stupid lists?"

"You do not know what you are talking about."

"You probably wrote it about yourself because you are nothing but narcistic asshole."

He got closer to my ear and whispered. "You probably wish it was about you?"

My chest burned. I came near his ear and whispered back. "No, asshole."

I stepped away, and he softly pulled my hand right after that. "Where do you think you were going?"

Our bodies were a few inches away. My heart was bouncing out of my chest. How all of this even happened? "You touched me again." I said, but my voice came out shaky and weak.

"Will you count that this year, because I think you will lose count."

"You are disgusting." Words said differently, but hand he held felt the electric wave.

"Woah! What did we interrupt?" David shouted from the back. Thank God he came. Leon stepped away and pretended nothing happened.

"Doris? I hear voice near me. So familiar, but also strange. I turned around to see Kyle following David. "Doris, we have to talk." He approached me nearer. I grabbed my jacket and ran towards the doors. I will never speak to you again.
