Hated (Maddie)

Today is your first day at UA High. You come from a middle-class family so you managed to afford tuition. Currently, you're on your way there, a bit lost. Actually, very lost. From the corner of your eye, you see a boy who's about your age. He has half-and-half hair--red and white, one teal eye and one dark gray eye, he's pale, and he's super hot. But, most importantly, he's wearing the same uniform as you, meaning you're going to the same place. Maybe he can help me!
Quickly, you run up to him. Obliviously, he keeps staring in front of himself. A bit shy, you tap his shoulder. Confused, he looks over at you, seemingly out of it. "What?" he asks.
"Hi," you greet. "I'm L/n and i see that you're also a student at UA?"
"Yeah? What of it?"
Finally, you just blurt out, "I'm lost. Can I walk with you?"
"That's fine."
"What's your name?"
"Todoroki."
"It's a pleasure meeting you, Todoroki. Thank you."
"You're welcome."
He starts walking off, off, so you run to catch up with him. The walk to school is mostly you talking and him giving dry answers. Does he find you annoying? Are you making a fool out of yourself in front of a hot guy? Probably, knowing you.
This is so frustrating! What are you supposed to do with such a beautiful guy here? This is too much.
At school, you find out that he's also in the hero course, so you go in the same direction. There, you both see some other students, talking and laughing . You assume the seat beside Todoroki since you already know him, though there are some other attractive guys here, too.
Things get hectic when you meet your homeroom teacher. It ends up with everyone having to take several tests and the lowest scoring student will be kicked out, which terrifies you. See, your quirk isn't going to be much help. You have the ability to communicate with animals and understand them. But there's one problem. Animals hate you. Nobody knows why, they just do. Every time you talk to them, they get mean and try to bite or scratch or just hurt you. So, you fail. The lowest score. Even lower than the kid with a green afro who broke his finger. A bit  epressed, you slump onto the ground. However, you're told that you won't be cut, though you don't know why. Either way, you're happy.
Sighing in relief, you lie on your back, staring at the sky, wishing that your quirk was better.
"Are you okay?" A half-and-half head pops in front of you.
Sitting up, you reply, "Yeah, I just wish my quirk was a bit more useful, y'know?"
"Oh. I'm sorry"
"It's okay, just a bit irritating."
"Makes sense. Bye."
He walks away, and you just tilt your head to the side. He may be hot, bit he's a bit weird. Oh well. Nobodys perfect.
You've been getting closer to Todoroki, but only because you're very persistent. Every day, you make and effort to talk to him, sit with him, and just be around him. He's still very dry, though you've been getting the feeling that's just his personality, because he's like that with everyone. The thing is, its becoming a real crush. At1 first, you just liked his looks, but now you're finding that you like his personality, t too. He's even s super strong, which is even better.
Recently, you've moved into the dorms. So right now, you're outside, staring at a bunny and a squirrel. Should you try talking to them? Probably. It's good to practice with your quirk. So, you crouch down, slowly approaching them.
"Hey there," you say to them. "Im Y/n. Wanna be friends?"
"Get lost!" shouts the squirrel. "You weirdo!"
The rabbit tells you, We want nothing to do with you! Where's Koda?"
"Koda's busy," you tell them. "But I'm nice, too."
"NO!!" shouts them both.
"What's going on?" Todoroki just appears out of nowhere, so you give him a sad smile.
"Trying to make friends but getting rejected."
"Oh."
"Yeah. They usually run...yup. There they go."
"Do you want me to freeze them so they don't run?"
"Uhh... no. You probably shouldn't."
"Then what do you want me to do? Set them on fire?"
"TODOROKI, NO-"
"But why? They're mean to you-"
"JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE'S MEAN DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN SET THEM ON FIRE!!!"
"I don't understand-"
"Just no. That's not acceptable."
"Well fine, then. See if I ever try to help you again." He crouches down beside you. "Why do animals hate you?"
"I don't know. My mom's quirk was shape-shifting and my dad's had to do with talking people into whatever he wanted They combined to talking to animals. You'd think that because of that they'd like me--like how they do Koda--but no They hate me. Literally."
"That's weird. You're not hate-able."
"Thank you, Todoroki. I think I'm just doomed. I'Il probably switch to general studies soon."
"What? Why?"
"Because my quirk is worthless, meaning I have nothing to help me. was hoping the teachers here could help me, but nobody can figure it out."
"Have you asked Koda for help?"
"Mhm. They still hate me."
"Wow. That sucks."
"Yeah, no kidding. I'll probably start the transfer soon-"
"No"
"What?"
"You're not allowed. You have to stay."
"If I've no hope of being a hero-"
"I forbid you."
"You can't just forbid me from things! You're not my boss!"
"I'll pay you."
"Dude-"
"Please, don't leave. You're my friend."
"We can still be friends and hang out. I just can't justify this if there's no hope"
"There is hope. You'll get there. I know it." He looks over to the squirrel and rabbit. "I was gonna set you guys on fire, but she saved you, even though you don't like her. Shouldn't you be nicer? L/n is very nice."
The squirrel shouts back, "No! She's weird!"
"I'm not that weird!" you shout back. "Sheesh! What did I do to you?!"
"Gosh! You two are mean!" You stand up. "I'm going to my room! You two can hang out with the weirdo who wants to set you on fire!"
The rabbit replies, "We just don't like you! Accept it!"
You stomp off, irritated. Those rotten animals! You saved their lives! And what kind of payment do you get? Lack of manners! Sheesh! This is just unfair!
Today, you got chased by a goose. You were just walking by and it attacked. Now, you're blow drying your hair because you fell into the lake.
"Stupid geese!" you shout. "I'm tired of this! I'd have been better off quirkless! I'll never be a hero like this!" Just then, there's a knock on your door. Rolling your eyes, you go to answer it. Right outside the door is a duckling and a note. It reads:
L/n, he's very friendly. Try practicing with him. I know you can do it.

Sighing, you pick up the duck, you nestles into your hand, He's so sweet! An animal has never been this way. In awe you sit on your bed with him.
"Hi," you say quietly."I'm Y/n."
"I... duckie."
"Yeah? Nice to meet you, duckie."
"Yeah... Koda said that you're friend."
"I am a friend. I won't hurt you."
"Okay."
And from there blossomed a beautiful friendship.
You take your duck with you everywhere and he just becomes your closest friend. You love him so much. Koda is happy to see that you're getting along, too. But then, one day, Todoroki walks up to you.
"Loose the duck," he tells you.
Confused, you ask, "Why?"
'Because he stole you from me."
What? What makes you say that?"
"You're always with the duck and not me. I don't like it. Stop that."
"No way! He's my best friend!" You pet him. "Aoi is most important-"
"No. I'm important."
"You're important, just not as important as Aoi."
"No. Me.
"Aoi."
"Me-"
"What's your deal? Why does it matter so much?"
'Because you're mine
"What? No, I'm not."
"Yes, you are. You're my girlfriend, right?"
"When did that happen?"
'Forever ago-"
"YOU WEREN'T GONNA ASK?!?!?!"
"I was supposed to ask?"
"YES!!! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO ASK!!"
"Oh. Will you be my girlfriend?"
"I DUNNO IF I SHOULD!! YOU-"
Why are you yelling?"
"BECAUSE I'M MAD!!!"
"Why are you mad?"
"BECAUSE YOU'RE AN IDIOT!!!"
"That's not very nice."
"ARGH!!! JUST-" You rub your temples in an attempt to calm down. "Fine. I'Il be your girlfriend. But Aoi stays."
"Aoi can be our son."
And just like that, he walks off. You just stand there, dumbfounded. Son? That's crazy! You're not a mom! But, then again, you do like the idea. Well, you're in trouble
