"Forgiveness is a powerful thing"
My friend
Old friend
You said so yourself
Yet I find myself so lost
Lost in those eyes
Just a fleeting thought
Because of those stranger's eyes
I fail to remove myself from this feeling
Everyday I learn something new
Lost in those eyes
These thoughts are something powerful
Every time I see
That stranger
I ask you where you're from
They all know we're talking
Their silence
Our words
All that I heard was my heart skip a beat
Lost in what I thought I knew
In times where we laugh until we cry
Our smiles and gazes meet
I see something knew
Every time I look
At that stranger
At you
Within me
I ask you where you're from
If you ever knew my mom
My family and my legacy
I doubt you do
Because you're just as young
You're about to go away
Another time
Another day
I'd hate to see you end up that way
If I could embrace
If I could shine
If only I could buy you and I more time
But she isn't me
And I know we both should lie separately
Forgiveness
When you're older
It's different
Day by day
Night lights and memories
As time fades away
From one's grasp
When you're older
What happens now?
Where do we go from here?
Where did we leave off?
I write every word
Every time
With no regrets
If we left so bitter and incomplete
Where do we go now?
What happened to forever?
Why return to each other?
In my notes I wrote every word I heard today
With undertones of those eyes
That meet mine every time
I look up
A friend
Old friend
I hope you forgive me
For these fleeting feelings
And lost thoughts
Because sometimes I think of you
On days like these
And I think I like you
A lot.
