Bitter diamonds, but you never knew

I know people push the limit

They want me

Their mere presence haunts me

I can't sleep at night

I was in pain

But you never knew

I wish I told you

Some days were so beautiful

They're plentiful

They still are

But sometimes I think of you

Where are you, old friend?

Are you any happier, now?

I hope you've found a beautiful life

Never a lie

I'd never lie to you

My eyes were bright

They were filled with tears

And now that I'm still here

I could cry after all these years

I made it

I hope you did, too

One can dream

If I were alone

You would leave me at peace

If I were scared

You would guard my little dreams

If I were happy

You would laugh along with me

And it would be so beautiful

I could forget for a moment

This cruel world around me.
