Holding fragments of the way
Her life used to be
In my fingertips
Her gaze graces me
In awe of the future
Fragments of the way
Her life used to be
Sunburn through the glass
We see fragments of ourselves in the limelight
And we love it
We love who we are
The beautiful face in the mirror
We love it
I turn on the tv
And there she is
It's me
As if the screen was black the whole time and I was only watching myself
And I love it
I love it when I see fragments of the way
Our lives used to be
One day I'll be something of the past
I'll never forget
Days like these
The way this life
Is meant to be.
