Byeongnam notices the change in my demeanour. "Jiminie, is everything really okay?" he asks, a concerned furrow marring his forehead.

I hesitate for a moment, debating whether to share my worries with him. Finally, I decided to confide in my friend, in the hope that he'll offer a different perspective.

"Something's been bothering me," I admit, my gaze dropping to the cup of coffee in front of me. "Last night, there was this strange incident, and Jungkook has been acting oddly lately."

Byeongnam leans in, his expression serious. "What happened? Tell me everything."

"But I don't know..." Sighing, I'm still a bit hesitant to spill everything. "I don't even get the chance to tell Hobi yet. Let's just say I tell no one yet about this."

"What do you mean Jungkook hyung has been acting odd lately?" Byeongnam's brows furrow. "I mean, he seems fine when we hang out."

"Not odd. It's just, lately, he has been having a lot of late-night discussions in the office. So, he frequently leaves at night," I frown, not feeling good to spill about my marriage issue. "But I have confronted him about that. He said he will stop that."

"That's good then. He listens to your concern," Byeongnam smiles reassuringly. "And I think, three days ago...? If I remember it correctly, I bumped into him at a nightclub."

"A club? Why would he be there?" My stomach churns for some reason at this new information.

"You didn't know he was there?" He looks surprised. "He only told me that he came to meet his hyung, which I assume he just catching up or something."

"Are you sure it was him?"

"Why do you ask like that? I mean, of course, I'm sure that was him because we exchanged a few conversations before he left," His demeanour changes again—he seems uncomfortable. "I didn't know that he didn't tell you he was there."

Is this why Jungkook was a bit disapproving when I told him that I was going to hang out with Byeongnam today? Because he doesn't want me to know that he went to a club behind my back—when he told me that he was going to the office?

Then, where was he last night? Was he really at the office?

"Hey, Jiminie," Byeongnam brings my attention back to the present moment. "I'm sure he has reasons for that. Maybe he forgot?"

No, he didn't. He gave me an eye-rolling, dripping-wet fuck before he left that night—to make it up for leaving me to sleep alone. He definitely not forgetting anything...

"Yeah, I guess," I fake a smile. "Maybe he did tell me. I'm the one who forgot."

"Then, what happened last night? You said a strange thing happened to you," He averts my attention from Jungkook's topic. "Are you okay? Did you hurt somewhere?"

"I'm fine. He didn't do anything harmful...yet," My voice comes out so quiet as I still can't stop thinking about Jungkook.

"He? Who is this he? What do you mean by that?" He suddenly seems agitated. "Jiminie?"

"Someone broke into my house last night. Around three in the morning," I can't take it anymore so I start to tell him everything about last night.

"But you saw his face, right?" He asks in a cautious tone after a moment of silence—probably processing everything.

"I did. But he was wearing a mask, like a masquerade mask or something. So I couldn't recognize him when half of his face is covered," I sigh for the nth time. That's the problem.
