In the soft glow of morning, Jimin sits by the window, nursing a cup of coffee and gazing out at the city. The events of the previous day still weigh heavily on his mind. Jungkook is in the kitchen, making breakfast, his presence a comforting anchor in the midst of uncertainty.

Jimin's phone buzzes, drawing his attention away from the view. He frowns at the unknown number but decides to check the message anyway. As he reads, his blood runs cold.

From, Unknown:

Miss me, Dolly? Did my warning not penetrate your pretty little head properly? I nicely asked you to stop Jungkook but what? You are involved now? I'm disappointed, Dolly. I was trying to be nice but I guess my pretty Dolly loves it the hard way. Just wait then. I have a big surprise for you!

Jimin's hands tremble as he stares at the text. The threat is clear, and the sense of danger is more palpable than ever. He quickly locks his phone, not wanting Jungkook to see the message and worry.

But it's too late. Jungkook enters the room, catching the tension in Jimin's face immediately. "Baby, what's wrong?"

Jimin forces a smile, but it doesn't reach his eyes. "Nothing, just... thinking about everything."

Jungkook isn't convinced. He steps closer, gently taking Jimin's hand. "You're not a good liar, baby. Tell me."

Jimin sighs, knowing he can't hide it. He unlocks his phone and hands it to Jungkook. "I got this message just now."

Jungkook reads the text, his expression darkening. "This bastard... They think they can scare us into stopping the investigation. But they're wrong."

"I'm scared, hyung," Jimin admits, his voice barely above a whisper. "What if something happens to you or Yoongi hyung because of me?"

Jungkook wraps his arms around Jimin, holding him close. "Nothing's going to happen to us. We're going to catch this shadow and put an end to all of this. I'll make sure of that."

From my vantage point, I see the fear in Jimin's eyes as he reads my message. Good. Fear is a powerful motivator, and it's about time they understood the seriousness of my warnings.

Jimin's loyalty to Jungkook and Yoongi is admirable but ultimately futile. They cannot stop what is coming.

I imagine the fear that must be gripping him right now, the way his hands might tremble as he reads my message. It's intoxicating, knowing I have this power over him.

My sweet Jimin. He doesn't understand yet, but he will. This is all for him.

I step back from the small café where I've been watching them through the window, blending seamlessly into the crowd. There's much to do, and I cannot afford to be distracted. They think they can outsmart me, but they're playing right into my hands.

As I walk through the bustling streets, I pull out my phone and compose another message, this time to Yoongi. He needs to understand the consequences of his actions.

To, Yoongi:

Detective, your stubbornness is endangering those you care about. Stop now, or you'll regret it.

I send the message, imagining the frustration and determination that will flash across his face when he reads it. I know Yoongi well enough to anticipate his reaction.

He'll double down, and become even more determined to catch me. And that's exactly what I want. The closer he gets, the more vulnerable he becomes.

My phone buzzes with a reply from the anonymous number I texted earlier.
