The tension in the air feels suffocating as we stand on opposite sides of the room, the weight of unspoken words hanging heavily between us. I can feel Jungkook's eyes on me, searching for any sign of vulnerability, but I refuse to meet his gaze.

"Jimin, please," he implores, his voice soft but filled with urgency. "I understand that you're upset, and I hate keeping things from you. But you need to trust me, just a little longer. I promise I'll explain everything as soon as I can."

I turn to face him, frustration and hurt etched across my features. "Trust, hyung? How can I trust you when you're keeping secrets from me? What else are you hiding?" I can't unsee the hurt on his face when I refer to him as "hyung" instead of "My Love".

He takes a step closer, reaching out as if to touch me, but I instinctively step back. The distance between us feels like a vast chasm, echoing the unspoken doubts and fears that now separate our once-unbreakable bond.

"I'm doing all of this to protect you, baby. There are things you don't know, things I can't reveal right now," he pleads, his eyes searching mine for any sign of understanding.

I shake my head, tears threatening to spill. "Protect me? You're pushing me away, hyung. I don't know who you are anymore. If you can't trust me with the truth, how can we move forward?"

He looks defeated, his shoulders slumping as he runs a hand through his hair. "I never wanted it to come to this, baby. I thought I could handle it, and protect you without involving you. But it's clear I've hurt you in the process."

The sincerity in his voice momentarily softens my resolve, but the anger and confusion still linger beneath the surface.

"Tell me, hyung, what is so important that you're willing to jeopardize our relationship? Is it something to do with the person who broke in last night? Or is it something else?"

He hesitates, the internal struggle evident on his face. "Baby, there's a secret investigation I've been conducting. I can't say more right now, but yes, it is connected to you. I can't say for sure it has a connection with the intruder from last yet. Please, I need you to trust me."

I scoff, a bitter laugh escaping me. "Another secret? An investigation? Are you a detective now, hyung? How am I supposed to believe you when you keep piling up lies?"

His eyes plead for understanding, but I'm not ready to give in. The room feels suffocating, the air heavy with the weight of our unravelling connection.

"Baby, please, I love you more than anything. I never wanted to hurt you," He whispers, reaching out again, but this time I step even farther away. "I know this is difficult, but we need to talk about what's been going on. We can't keep avoiding this." His voice is soft, pleading.

I turn away from him, my fists clenched at my sides as a surge of anger courses through me. "What's there to talk about, hyung? You've been keeping secrets from me, lying to me about where you've been, and now you expect me to just accept it?"

"Baby, I never meant to hurt you," Jungkook's voice cracks with emotion, and I can hear the desperation in his tone. "I was just trying to protect you, to keep you safe."

"Protect me? By lying to me? By hiding things from me?" I whirl around to face him, my voice rising with every word. "Do you even hear yourself right now, hyung? You're acting like you know what's best for me, but you don't. You don't get to make decisions for me without my input."

"I know, I know," Jungkook's voice is barely above a whisper now, his shoulders slumped in defeat. "I messed up, baby. I should have been honest with you from the start, but I was scared. Scared of what might happen if you found out the truth."
