JIMIN
The house is rarely quiet.
With three teenagers—chaotic teenagers, at that—there's always something happening. If it's not Woojin and Saejin bickering over the car, it's Hana blasting her music through the speakers. If it's not Hana, it's Jungkook making up ridiculous competitions to keep the kids entertained, only to get way too competitive himself.
And yet, somehow, today... the house is silent.
It's strange.
Unsettling, even.
I glance at the clock—7:32 PM. The twins are out with their friends (after serving their sentence of being grounded, of course), and Hana is at a sleepover. Jungkook is in the kitchen, humming softly as he prepares a snack for us.
It's just the two of us.
Just me and him.
Just like it used to be.
A small smile tugs at my lips as I make my way toward the kitchen, watching Jungkook move around effortlessly. He's wearing sweatpants and one of his oversized shirts—the one that nearly swallows him whole but is undeniably his favorite. His hair is still damp from his shower, strands falling messily over his forehead.
It's such a simple sight, but my chest tightens with warmth. I step forward, wrapping my arms around him from behind, pressing my cheek against his back.
Jungkook chuckles, continuing to spread peanut butter on a slice of bread. "What's this?"
"Nothing," I murmur, closing my eyes for a moment. "Just missed you."
He pauses for a beat before turning in my arms, his eyes soft as he cups my face. "I'm right here, baby."
I hum, leaning into his touch. "I know. But with the kids always running around... it feels like we haven't had a moment to ourselves in ages."
Jungkook smiles, pressing a gentle kiss to my forehead. "Yeah," he agrees. "It's been a while."
I sigh, resting my head against his chest. "Remember when it was just the two of us? When we didn't have to fight over the last cup of coffee in the morning or threaten Woojin to just pick a movie already?"
Jungkook laughs. "Yeah. We used to be able to sleep in without someone barging into our room asking if they could borrow money."
I snort. "They don't even ask anymore. They just take."
Jungkook groans. "I know. I had to hide my wallet under my pillow last week."
I grin, looking up at him. "They still found it, didn't they?"
He pouts, "Hana found it. She's too smart for her own good."
I laugh, feeling light. Happy.
Jungkook stares at me for a moment before his arms tighten around my waist, pulling me closer. "I love you," he says, voice quieter this time. "You know that, right?"
I nod. "Of course I do."
His thumb brushes over my cheek. "And I love our family. But I also love us. And I don't ever want you to feel like we've lost this—you and me."
I blink at him, my heart swelling. "My Love..."
He smiles, pressing his forehead against mine. "So, let's make time for us, okay? Even if it's just a quiet night at home. Just you and me."
