I closed my grey colored notebook and sighed as a breeze blew by me slowly. I had been out and about just relaxing at the closest park. At the moment, I was laying down on this soft patch of grass that had been underneath this large willow tree that provided a large amount of shade from the shining sun. And underneath me, was this medium sized picnic blanket that I had carried around with me right after I left my house. It was what separated me from the soft grass.
If I remember correctly, it was only just yesterday that we encountered that group of 'people' that night. After encountering so many demons that week, something sparked in me which made me uneasy of Shuichi. Then again, after what happen, there will surely be a change. There was no going back. Sometimes, things like this were unavoidable at all.
I opened my eyes and stared blankly at the blue sky above me. In the end, that innocent acting was all for nothing. I wanted to be certain of so many things. Just thinking about it made me uneasy. Closing my eyes, I thought about all the flaws that existed in this world. There was too many to count. A cold breeze blew by me, and a familiar aura could be recognized. Without even opening my eyes, I had already realized what it was.

"If you're going to appear without being noticed", I said out loud, "You might as well just do it without getting caught." I forced myself to sit up as I opened my eyes and stared at who I was talking to. A small figure covered in a black cloth. But just by looking at the clothing they wore that wasn't covered by the cloth, I could tell that it was a little boy. To my surprise, there appeared to be some minor injures. Reaching my hand out to this boy, I tried calling him over to me. "Nee", I said, "Come here for a moment." But of course, he didn't come. Sighing, I pulled out some bandages from my bag and threw it at him. He flinched from the bandages hitting him, but again he didn't move. He didn't run. The fact that he stayed in place sparked some of my interest. So I started moving closer and closer to the boy. There was a point where I managed to at least get 'close' to him, but when I did, he scratched me. Luckily for me and my reflexes, the scratch wasn't that serious. He was only able to draw out some blood.
"Heeeeeeey", I said while trying to get closer to him again, "Don't be stingy. I just wanna help you." He stopped moving for a moment and stared at me. Was he hesitating ? Pulling back, I stared at him. "If you're trying to avoid trouble, just listen as told. I won't hurt you." It was just for a small moment, but I thought that I saw it nod.
Slowly reaching out my hand again, I waited to see his reaction. What was behind that black hood. Finally, for what felt like an hour of keeping my hand out, he reached out and grabbed it. A rough hand, covered in minor scratches. It was also.... a small hand ? I grabbed his hand and pulled him close to me so that I was now hugging him. Of course, he struggled to break free, but because he appeared weakened, he couldn't. Pulling the hood of, revealed this small child with black hair and teal colored eyes. A boy around the age of ten. But he was different.
I reached into my jacket pocket and pulled out this small glass bottle with a cork on it as a lid. Inside it, were these small sized type of candy that came in so many shapes. Taking one of them out, I gave it to the boy, telling him to eat it. He hesitated for a bit, but in the end, ate it. I watched as his face turn bitter by the taste and laughed.
"What is this !???", he pouted as he tried to get the taste out of his mouth, "What did you just give me, you human !???" I pulled out another one of those candy looking things and held it up into the sunlight. "It's candy", I replied, "Something that helps me make things much more interesting." He glared at me and turned away. "Come on now", I said, trying to get him to look at me again, "Don't be stingy." He looked over his shoulder and was still glaring at me. "Why did you even bother to help me", he said faintly, "Don't you know what I am ?" "...I dislike seeing someone in pain", I replied softly, as I reached over and began to clean the wounds that this boy had, "There are a lot of different people in the world. And each one have their own choices." He didn't reply. "That's right", I said while staring at the bandages, "What is your name ?" "Why should I give my name to a human like you ?", he said coldly. I looked at him and rummaged through my bag. Pulling out this comb, I smiled. "Then I will have no choice to but kill you", I replied. I watched him smirk. "With that ?", he said in amusement. I nodded and slipped off the top to reveal a hidden knife. "Yeap", I said happily.
He stared at the blade hesitantly. ".....Mizuki." "Huh ?" "I said my name is Mizuki." I stared at his, somewhat embarrassed face and smiled. He avoided any eye contact from me. "Well Mizuki", I said as I finished cleaning his wounds and bandaging them up, "My name is Shiori. Let's get along, shall we ?"

That day, I took him home and decided to learn some stuff about him. Who he was, and why he appeared before me. While I was fixing something up in the kitchen, I heard him say, "I hate you... Why are you helping a demon like me ? Don't you wanna know why I even bothered to come to you ?" I placed the dish of onigiri on the table and took off the apron that I had on. "No", I replied, averting my gaze from his, "Though I do want to know why it was me you went to." I turned to him and smiled. "Now come here and eat this before I come over there and do it for you." Mizuki sighed as he walked over to the table and began eating. "I wonder why I'm even listening to a human", he said in disbelief. I walked over to the Living room and sat down. "When you're finished, I'll show you your room." He stopped for a moment and looked at me with disbelief. "My room ?", he asked. I nodded and turned on the T.V. "That's right", I replied, "Starting today, you're going to be living with me." "Why should I ?", he said. "Because it's what I said." He kinda grumbled before giving in. "Fine", he said. "Good boy", I replied, a smile on my face.
Though even I didn't really know why I was doing this. Maybe it was because we weren't exactly that different from each other.
