It's not like I'm leaving forever. I'm just going to go out and do a small errand...

[Ciel P.O.V.]

When I woke up, there was a sharp throbbing pain in my head. After  3 minutes of staring at one place in my room, I looked around, confused. Something about the day felt off. I slowly slid off my bed and walked over to my window. For some reason, the blinds were still closed. I glanced over at the clock that was hanging on my wall as I opened them. It was already mid afternoon. The sun was already up in the sky. But why did I oversleep ? It wasn't like I did something that would have caused me to. I looked around for my phone. And when I did, it confused me even more. When I opened it, there were 15 calls from Kurama, 10 from Ura, and 5 from Kuwabara. I took a seat on my bed and looked at when it occurred. My eyes widened.

It happened 2 days ago.

I quickly made my way out of my room and was greeted by the dim lighting of the house. It was the same. I went over to the railing of the stairs and looked downstairs. Everything was untouched. It was the same as the last time I remembered it. The blinds were also still closed. No one was in sight. I frowned and made my way to Mizuki's room. Perhaps they were asleep ? A feeling of doubt came over me. But all of them ?

When I arrived to his room, I reached for the door knob and slowly turned it. Luckily for me, the door didn't squeak as I opened it. Then again, nothing around the house really did. Everything was in perfect maintenance. I peered into his room to see him sleeping. And like it had been for me, everything was set to where it would have been at night. I slowly closed the door and headed downstairs. The first thing I did was open the blinds to let the sunlight inside. It felt as if the house had been locked away for a while. As if it were covered in dust. Shortly after, I went to the other parts of the house and did the same. I let the sunlight shine into the dimness of the house. Once I was done, I headed back into the living room and took a seat on the couch. I pulled out my phone and called Kurama. Surely, he could give me some sort of insight. It felt weird to be in this situation. Time seemed sluggish and slow.

[riiiiing... riiiinnng...]

"Hello ?"

"Kurama ?"

"If it isn't Ciel. What's with the disappearing act ?"

He sounded confused. Believe me, I was too.

"Sorry, I didn't seem to hear my phone..  So why did you call ?"

He sighed.

"If that's an excuse, you need a better one."

"But I'm not kidding."

"Who in the world would sleep in for two days ?"

"I don't understand it myself !"

"What do you mean ?"

I grimaced and looked around the silent house. Seconds later, I stood up and headed back upstairs.

"Meet me at Kaede Park", I ended up saying. "I'll explain it there."

"Oh alright then. I'll meet you in a few minutes."

"Will do."

After that phone call ended, I closed the door to my room behind me and sighed in dismay. Something was definitely off. I could feel it.

By the time I arrived at Kaede Park, Kurama was already there. His back was turned towards me with his hands in the pocket of his jacket when I spotted his red hair. He was talking to someone. To my surprise, he was with Urameshi. When they spotted me, the first greeting I got was from Ura. "Finally", he sighed, "You're alive." I grimaced and reluctantly placed a hand on the side of my neck. "Uhn", I mumbled. As Ura continued to talk, I could see Kurama slightly tilt his head to the side and stare at me. He seemed to be frowning.

"Is there something on my face ?", I asked him. He shook his head. "No", he replied, "But you smell of something..." "What ?" Urameshi laughed beside him. "You haven't showered ?", he asked. My first reaction was to hit him, which I did. "No", Kurama said again, bringing a finger up to his lips as he thought about it, "That's not it. It's an herb... I can smell an herb." I brought my hand up to nose and slightly sniffed my wrist. "What do you mean ?", I asked, confused. "I don't smell anything ? Much less, an herb..."

"What kind of herb is it Kurama ?", Ura asked him, placing his arms behind his head. Kurama frowned and looked at me. "I don't know", he replied slowly, "It's very faint, but the scent is still there." "The old lady works with plants doesn't she ?", Ura suddenly said, bringing up a good point. "I guess ?" "But the scent doesn't seem to be from this place", Kurama interjected dryly. "What's that supposed to mean ?", Ura asked. "It's not from this world." "So then Botan ?", I asked. "If we can find her." A nonchalant expression appeared on Ura's face as he turned towards the direction of Sarayashiki. "She's with Keiko right now", he informed bluntly, "Before I came here, I was with them." I tilted my head to the side.

"Does that mean you guys are together now ?", I asked. Ura quickly turned around and scowled at me. "Now's not the time to be asking", he said with disbelief. "Might as well, while I'm at it", I replied with  grin. "How is that even relevant to what we're doing !?"

"Ciel." I turned away from Urameshi and looked at Kurama. "Hmm ?", I mumbled. There was a pause. "No", he suddenly said, after a while, "Nothing." A feigned smile appeared on his face as he turned to Ura. I slightly narrowed my eyes but shook off and uneasy feeling. I trusted Kurama enough to not question him. "So are you coming or not ?", I heard someone call out. I looked up to see Ura and Kurama already ahead of me. "Oh right", I said to myself and quickly trailed after them. I guess it was time to pay Keiko a little visit as well. It's been a while.

Botan circled around me before breaking out into a visible frown. "Huh..", she mumbled when she stopped in front of me, "That's very weird.." "What is it ?", Keiko asked from beside Ura. They were all staring at us. Botan turned around and grimaced. "The herb that you're talking about", she said to Kurama. "It's an herb from Makai." Kurama didn't reply.

"But how ?", Ura asked. "How did that get there ?" I looked up at the sky and thought about it. I watched as white pouffy clouds slowly drifted by above us. And then it hit me. However I was doubtful. Could it have been during the time that Shiori was in Makai ? It was possible. I stood up from the side of the bench that I was leaning against and stared at Kurama. "Do you think that it was from that time ?", I asked. "What time ?", Keiko asked, beginning to play with Ura's hair. He slapped her hand away and glared at her. She grinned. "Do you mean when Shiori was in Makai ?", Botan said. I nodded.

"The others couldn't have brought it with them when we brought them back here", I mumbled, trying to reason with the situation, "They were still asleep when I left."

"So then it's..."
