"If things were different, what kind of person would you be ?"
Sometimes, even I begin to think about that question. She smiles at me and holds out her hand. In return, I smile and reach for it. Surely... I would be someone else. The "Shiori" now wouldn't have existed. I would be a different "Shiori", one with no struggle. I would have a different life.
Then again, there was no such thing as "perfection" in this damned life. It was all just a game. A place where everyone looked down on others. No matter how much we try, we can never change that.
It's like an ongoing line of mistrust.

["...That person.."]
Since I couldn't use my hands at the moment, I used my feet and kicked Juuji's door down. You should've seen the look on his face. If I wasn't in such a.. serious situation, then maybe I would've been laughing. I had no idea to what he was doing, but I must've ruined his line of focus or something. And I say this because the moment the door fell, I could see him flinch. He actually jumped a bit. I waited 5 seconds for him to look over his shoulder and stare at me with disapproval. I wanted to laugh when he finally turned. He was staring at me with an uneasy expression on his face. In his hand, a pen. The color of his face was slightly drained of it's original color.
"Guardian-san ?", he hesitantly asked. I smiled at him and shoved her inside. I clapped my hands together as if I were dusting them off. "Sorry for startling you Juuji", I said, "But I couldn't open the door soooooo...." "And you didn't think of knocking ?", he asked. I walked into the room and glanced down at the girl who was all tied up in rope. To my relief, she wasn't struggling anymore. Haha, accept your fate ! Juuji also looked down at her. "I would've if I could've but she was a pain to bring back", I replied with a sigh, "I have no time to be knocking on a door and waiting for someone to answer. That takes too long" He stood up and knelt down beside her. "Does that mean that you also kicked down the front door of this place ?", Juuji reluctantly asked. I grinned at him. "Who goes through the front door anymore ?", I asked in a jokingly manner, "I went through the window." I could see the corner of Juuji's mouth twitch. "I'm just kidding", I said, "I went through the front door." "..Jah, then why did you kick mine down if you could open the door ?" I shrugged. "Dunno", I mumbled. "I just felt like it." "Nani !?" The disbelief in his voice was amusing. I walked over to him and knelt down beside him. I reached into my pocket and pulled out a small knife. Juuji was quick to move back. I stared at him. "Yo, Juuji", I said. "Hmm ?", he replied hesitantly. "If I was trying to kill you, you'd already be dead." "Yeah ?" "Why did you move back ?" He looked around his room as if he were looking for something. "Oh nothing really", he said nervously, "I was just.. remembered something." "Oh really ?", I asked, raising a brow. "Yeah." I looked away from him and shook my head in dismay. "Wow Juuji", I mumbled, "And here I thought we had something..."
When I finally finished get rid of the rope, I should've known that she was going to do something. The minute I untied her, she hit me and got on top of me. I nonchalantly stared at the ceiling as she brought some of the rope up to my neck. Was she going to strangle me ? "You know", I said slowly, "If you're planning to strangle me you should probably wrap the rope around my neck.." I could hear Juuji laughing from near the door. "Juuji if you leave, that barrier will burn you", I called out bluntly. His laughing stopped. Good. The girl glared at me. "How dare you tie me up with this rope !", she hissed, "Do you know how uncomfortable it was to be carried around !?" "Well maybe if you hadn't decide to kill me then maaaaaaaaybe I would've made it easier for you by knocking you out." "YOU DID KNOCK ME OUT DAMN IT." From the corner of my eye, I could see Juuji facing the wall. I could tell he was trying not to laugh. "Oh yeah", I mumbled. "I forgot." I watched her turn to Juuji. "And you !", she snapped, "Where the hell have you been !? Why haven't you killed her yet !?" Juuji turned around with an amused grin on his face. "Because I fell in love", he bluntly replied. His voice sounded so genuine that I got chills. Just.. chills. I reluctantly grinned.
[Author-san you asshole. How could you do this to me.]
The girl looked back at me. "You fell in love with this thing ?", she said in disbelief. "You fell in love with a human ?" From the corner of my eye, I could see Juuji looking at me. I averted my gaze and stared at the ceiling. So now I'm a thing ? Nice. I could hear Juuji walking over to us because of his footsteps. When he was finally in view he was looking down at me with a mischievous smile. This guy better not try doing something stupid. "Guardian-san", he said in a gentle voice, "Would you like me to help you get out of this mess ?" "Please do", I replied, "It's getting harder to breath." "Are you calling me fat ?" I didn't reply. That mischievous look in his eyes gave me a bad feeling.
"Then give me a kiss", he said. I stared at him. "Oh okay", I replied. They both looked taken back. "What !?", she shouted, "You'd do WHAT !?" I was going to say, "it's just a kiss", but then I realized that it would be insensitive of me to say. I don't do good with feelings. Good thing I caught myself on time. "It's not like I'm going to kill him", I replied shortly after. "Just get off of me." Juuji knelt down beside us and grinned. "You're such an interesting human Guardian-san", he said, slightly tilting his head to the side, "But it's not nice to play with a mans feeling." Again, I had that weird feeling. "Then. Don't. Joke. Around.", I hissed. He laughed and stood back up. "Kaori, get off of her." "But why !?", she whined, "We could kill her right now and leave !" Juuji went over to his chair and stood a seat. "That's not what we're supposed to do", he said to her, "Besides, even if we tried to kill her, she'd kill us first. You know how easy it is to get knocked out by her, don't you ?" Kaori looked down at me and glared. "Damn right I do", she replied. I sighed. "If you're good, then that'll be the only time I do that", I said. Kaori slowly pushed herself off of me and stood by Juuji. I sat up and took a deep breath.
Jeez, I thought I was going to die. I stared at the broken door and stood up. "Welp, it looks like it's time to fix the door now", I said. I was about to leave when someone grabbed my hand. I looked over my shoulder to see Juuji smiling at me. Ah, I see what he was doing. I walked over to him and stood in front of him. I brought my hand up to my lips and kissed it. Afterwords, I placed my hand on Juuji's forehead and quickly made my way out of the door. When I turned, Juuji was starting at me with an amused grin on his face. I winked at him and grinned.
"You have been kissed", I said, and went off to find something to fix the door.
