Charlotte sat in her hotel room, the incessant buzzing of her phone irritating her more with each passing second. She glanced at the caller ID and saw her father's name flashing on the screen. With a frustrated sigh, she turned the phone off and threw it across the room, the sudden silence bringing a brief sense of relief.

Taking a deep breath, Charlotte moved to the bathroom and began to remove her makeup, the smudged mascara a stark reminder of the tears she had shed earlier. The words of Max echoed in her mind, each one cutting deeper than the last. She couldn't shake the feeling of betrayal that lingered in the air, nor could she ignore the realisation that she had allowed her father to control her life for far too long.

As she thought about the mess she found herself in, Charlotte couldn't help but feel a surge of anger towards her father. If it weren't for him, perhaps she could have been with Lewis openly, and Max would still be her friend. But now, everything felt uncertain, and she didn't know where she stood with either of them.

Charlotte picked up her phone and was relieved to see that she hadn't missed any important calls or messages. She quickly dialed her agent, her voice betraying her underlying sense of urgency as she requested a change of plans for her upcoming shoot in Spain.

As she packed her suitcase and donned a Tommy Hilfiger hoodie over ripped jeans, Charlotte felt a sense of defiance wash over her. She knew the flashing cameras would be waiting for her outside the hotel, but she didn't care. Security ushered her into the waiting car, and she was quickly whisked away, leaving the chaos behind.

As the family jet took off, Charlotte couldn't help but feel conflicted. She had always been critical of her family's extravagant lifestyle, but now she found herself justifying her actions in the name of self-preservation.

Arriving in Madrid, Charlotte felt a sense of relief wash over her as she stepped out of the car and into the quiet anonymity of the hotel lobby. But even as she settled into her new surroundings, her mind couldn't help but drift back to Lewis.

She quickly dialed Lewis's number, her heart pounding as she waited for him to answer.

"Hey, Charlotte, how are you doing?" Lewis's voice came through the line, filled with concern.

Charlotte took a moment to compose herself before responding, "Hey, Lewis. I've been worried about you too."

There was a brief pause before Lewis spoke again, his voice gentle, "I've still got some work to do here, but I'll try to finish up soon. We should talk."

Charlotte felt a surge of gratitude towards Lewis, thankful for his unwavering support. "That sounds good," she replied, her voice soft. "I'll be here when you're ready."

With a sense of relief, Charlotte ended the call, feeling a small glimmer of hope amidst the chaos.
