Third Person's POV

Finally, the last team arrived; the East Bridge Institute. All of the teams are now present: East Bridge Institute, Springfield High School, Sunny Hills Conservatory Academy, Edgewood Secondary School, and Berk Institute

The teams from each school, men and women, were instructed to go to the court. While walking towards the court, Hiccup was still busy looking at the other players. Fishlegs was smiling behind him because Hiccup looks like a kid that just entered the toy store.

Everybody was lined up; Springfield High School was positioned at the far left, next to them was Edgewood Secondary School, then Berk Institute, next was the Sunny Hills Conservatory Academy, and lastly, the East Bridge Institute on the right most part.

The official opening of the event started with a warm greeting from the head of the sports committee and followed by an athlete's oath headed by one of the players from East Bridge Institute.

After the oath, Hiccup turned to John and asked, "Hey, how long does this go for?", Fishlegs shrugged his shoulders, "No idea. It's also my first time standing here. I usually sit at the stands.", then the formalities continued with more greetings and words from guests.

"Now, let's head to the most important part of today's event that's everyone especially the players are waiting for." the head of the sport's committee declared, "Let's pick the games for today. we will alternate with men and women." he added, then a fish bowl full of papers was brought to him. "So without further adieu, the first game this morning will be..." he mixed the papers inside the bowl, he pulled out two papers.

"The first game for the men's division will be Springfield High School Eagles versus East Bridge Institute Knights.", then he pulled out two papers again but from a different fish bowl, "For the first game for the women's division, it will be Berk Institute Valkyries versus Edgewood Secondary School Sorceresses."

The announcement ended and the preparations for the beginning of the first game of the Men's Division started.

Max's POV

All the preparations were finished, the officials, scorers, and players and coaches from both teams were all on the court while the nonplaying teams are all seated at the stands to spectate the games.

"See that?" Fishlegs pointed at one of the teams, "Yeah. East Bridge Institute, what about them?" I replied, "They were ranked first in last year's State Qualifiers and still considered to be strongest contender in our state." he told me which piqued my interest and I wanted to see how good they are.

- - - - -

I was watching the game quietly, checking both of the team's plays. It was a complete blow-out with East Bridge Institute coming on top but what got my attention was their passing, the unselfishness of every player made it possible for everyone of them to score.

They won 86 - 63, "If we play against them, we'll need to get in between of their passing lanes to disrupt their flow." I was murmuring since I was completely focus on the game, "Hiccup!" I was snapped out of my trance, "Hmmm?" I hummed a question, "Astrid's calling you." he told me, I saw her standing by the stairs, I stood up and made my way towards her.

"Excited?" I asked her, "Yup. With a hint of nervousness." she shared, "You? Nervous? That can't be true.", "I still get nervous. Their expectations always scare me." she gestured at the people holding huge cameras, "Just do what you do best. It's just another day in the office." I offered doing our secret handshake and she smiled and took my offer.

We finished our handshake, "Kill it out there." I reminded her, she showed me a toothy grin before she head down and warmed up with the rest of the team.
