Third Person's POV
Hiccup immediately froze upon saying those words, "Maybe it'll be easier if we just date for real." Hiccup thought about what he said to Astrid again, "I hope she didn't hear me." he told himself but Astrid pulled away and looked at him with wide-eyes.
I faked laugh, "I was just-", "Hiccup, you are one of the best people I know, I just-", "No. No. I was just kidding." Hiccup smiled awkwardly, "Oh look at the time. Lunch is about to end." he held out his wrist even though he doesn't have a watch, "See you later, Astrid." he said as run out of the gym.
As soon as he reached his seat, his head dropped down to his table. "Why did I just say that?" he bumped his head a couple of times but there was something else bugging him, it was Astrid's reaction and what Astrid said or to be more specific, what she was about to say.
Hiccup's POV
"Hiccup, you are one of the best people I know, I just-" it was repeating in my head, "I just see you as a friend and nothing more." I thought about what the next words were.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when I felt a tap on my shoulder, I opened my eyes and saw Fishlegs standing beside me, "The class already ended." he said, "Really?" I looked around and we were the only one there.
"Are you okay?" Fishlegs asked, "Y-yeah. I'm good. I'm okay. I'm completely fine. Why shouldn't I?" I blabbered, "Ah... Alright... Do you want to go to 'THE PIT'?" he questioned, "I don't feel like it. I'll just go home." I told him as I put my things in my bag.
Third Person's POV
Hiccup and Fishlegs were sitting on the bus on their way home. Fishlegs felt there was something going on with Hiccup because Hiccup hasn't said anything since they left their room and he was just staring out the window.
Fishlegs's assumption was proven when he saw him decline a call from someone called 'Milady'.
Hiccup's POV
"See you tomorrow, Hiccup." Fishlegs said as I walked to our house, "Yeah..." was my only reply.
I got home and greeted my dad before going to my room without waiting for him to say anything about Astrid, I closed the door of my room and dropped my bag on the floor, removed my shoes, and fell face first on my bed in complete darkness.
I was trapped in my thoughts, first time since my mom died. I don't know what I was feeling, it was a different kind of hurt, I never felt something that hurts this much, bruises and sprained ankles were nothing compared to the pain he was feeling right now, I didn't even realized that ever since we started pretending, my feelings for her slowly began surfacing once again.
That's why it hurts so much since I know that she doesn't feel the same way I do. Heartbreak was a very suitable name to what I was feeling right now.
Toothless might have felt something was going on with me because he went to me and cuddled while meowing, I could feel tears dripping down my face, "Why am I crying?" I wiped them off but it wasn't stopping.
Third Person's POV
Hiccup was quiet all morning. He only greeted Fishlegs and never said a word again, he didn't even have lunch or any snacks, he was just sitting on his seat with his hoodie covering his face.
Fishlegs definitely knew something was wrong but he didn't know if it was okay to ask Hiccup since when he last asked he just brushed it off.
He just exited the Mess Hall when he saw Astrid and the others on their way to them.
