Chapter 44: The Snot Problem is Getting Out of Hand

Narration:

Next day, Hiccup was like a celebrity when he came to school. He even got interviewed for their school's paper, the only rest he was getting was when there were classes which was ironic.

Hiccup's POV

I had not time for myself since coming in this morning, the bus was exhausting, my walk to class was exhausting, and even eating lunch was exhausting.

Fishlegs was no help at all, he left me alone to deal with everybody. When the classes ended, I went to the gym to hide and take a breather. 

I laid down on the court When I suddenly heard footsteps, "Oh man... How di dthey find me already?" I asked myself so I sat up and looked at where the sound was coming from, "Why are you here? We don't have any trainings today." I heard and I was surprised to see Coach E walking towards me.

"I'm just resting coach. I've been talking and smiling the whole day." I replied, "My jaws are starting to get numb" I added, "That comes with becoming famous." he told me, "Famous? Me?" I pointed to myself, he nodded.

"It's tiring. I don't like this much attention. I just want to play basketball." I said, "You need to get used to it as the season continue and you continue displaying high level of basketball, more people will know your name especially when we get to the nationals." Coach e told me, "Try embracing it, you might find advantages and perks that comes with fame." he added, "By the way, we have a game on Saturday so be ready. I'll announce it tomorrow." he followed, I stayed a couple of more minutes before leaving the gym. 

When all of a sudden, I felt a strong pull and I was slammed to the wall of the gym. I groaned from the impact and when I looked it was Snotlout and his goons, "I told you we're not finished." he said, "You said that? When did you told me?" I mocked, I felt a punch on my stomach which made mem cough, "Keep talking. Let's see where it will get you." he told me, "I'll only tell you this once, leave Astrid alone or I'll make you regret coming back here. Do you understand?" he continued and I didn't react, he punched me again, "Y-You told me to stop talking and now, you want me to say something. Make up your mind, Snotlout." I replied between coughs and I felt his grip tightened on my shoulder, "Never call me that." he lifted me up, "Call you what? Snotlout." I said, he was winding up a punch and I was trying to prepare myself when I heard a whistle blown. I turned my head and it was a guard, "What are you doing here?" he asked, "Nothing. We were just talking." Snotlout smiled as he put me down and I immediately ran away, "SEE YOU HICCUP!" he shouted and I knew it was a threat and a warning. 

I embraced my midsection since it was hurting a bit because of the punches I received from Snotlout, "I know that I said some really cool stuff about handling myself but this is getting out of hand." I told myself, "I can't let them know or Astrid will just worry and deal with Snotlout herself."  I thought.

I woke up groaning since every time I shifted and moved around my midsection was in pain. 

I walked out of the door and Fishlegs was already waiting outside my house when I opened the door, "Mornin' Max!" he happily greeted, I looked at him and nodded before continued walking. 

"Are you okay, Hiccup?" Fishlegs asked, I let out a breath before answering, "Yeah. I'm fine." I told him. 

It was already lunch break and I'm still in pain, "Hiccup, do you want to get lunch?" Fishlegs asked beside me, "Sure." I tried standing up but a jolt of pain pulsated in my torso, "I-I'm okay. You go ahead." I told him, "Okay. See you later." he replied before leaving the classroom. 

I was alone in the classroom when I heard my phone rang, "Hello?" I asked, "Hey Hiccup?" I heard, I pulled it off from my ear to look at the caller ID and it was Astrid, "Oh hey, milady. What's up?" I said, "Where are you?" she asked, "Uh... Why?" I replied, "I came across Fishlegs and he said you were acting strange." she told me, "Strange? He said that? I just didn't feel like eating." I said, "Where are you?" she questioned, "I'm okay.", "Where are you?" she repeated, "I'm in my classroom." I sighed in defeat.
