« I can't believe my girlfriend is a real princess. », Link said, finally wearing his jogging, ready to go to bed even though he wasn't able to get over what Father said even if it's been hours now. After this reveal, we were all pretty shocked, and to be honest I didn't know what to think about it. Of course Hyrule wasn't a monarchy anymore so I had no kingdom to rule, nor any coronation or any responsibilities about this country, but... maybe if I knew it since my childhood it would've been simpler for me to deal with these roots. I meant, technically speaking, I was a princess ! A princess of nothing, but still a princess !
When I asked Father why he didn't tell me anything, he simply answered that my current statute as the next first fortune of the world was enough to deal with, and knowing I was the descendent of the Royal Family wouldn't change a thing, as Father's side of the family didn't use this name anymore. So, instead of being a 'Bosphoramus Hyrule', his ancestors chose to hide the name 'Hyrule' and only keep 'Bosphoramus'. So, as a sort of tradition, all of my ancestors - my grand-father and Father included - knew they were a part of the Royal Family at their eighteenth birthday.
I'd always been attached to my country and its legends, such as my parents. If Mother learnt everything about Hyrule from her own mother and when she moved in, Father had always been a strong believer in Hylia. I always thought it was because of their own personalities, but now I knew it was because they both wanted me to know everything about my country, as if I would ever be its next ruler.
The Princess of Hyrule... I really feel like I'm living in a fairytale ! The girl who always thought she was just a citizen and became a princess... This is so romantic !
The rest of the party had been pretty calm. Father stayed a bit with us, chatting with my friends - as surprising as it was - before he left us alone around 2AM. But, no one else wanted to go to bed. So, we kept chatting and drinking - but only softs for Paya and I, as we didn't want to be hung over during our journey to Athens -, before we followed Link and An to the music studio.
Happily this room was at the exact opposite of Father's bedroom, and, if An really wanted to see how Link played the drums, my boyfriend proudly said that I was learning how to play too. So, after my friends were all begging for me to play something, I finally surrendered and showed them my impressive skills - which meant : I butchered 'God is a Woman', and felt pretty sorry for Ariana Grande.
My boyfriend can say whatever he wants, but playing the piano and harp for many years didn't help me being a good drummer...
And then, Link took place behind his drums, took his sticks and showed us what true talent was. And what being a show off meant.
If 'God is a woman' was pretty slow and simple - even though I was a walking disaster - I could tell that 'Shadow Moses' by Bring me the Horizon was another level. His moves were fast, hitting the drums and cymbals in a very quick rhythm, his head was moving along the song, making his blond hair fly above his head and he couldn't help but lip sync with the singer. Sometimes, he made his stick spin around his fingers before he powerfully hit his instrument, and everyone was either whistling, or clapping in their hands, encouraging him to do so.
Then, right after the next song started, An sat on the piano and started playing with Link. A nice cover of 'Numb' by Linkin Park, only made of Link's powerful drums, An's delicate piano and melodious voice, before I joined them with my harp. And, on the second verse, everyone was singing, until the end. And even more, as we continued to play and sing together for many songs. Until we just stayed in the room and talked about everything and anything, making it last as long as possible.
