Just as promised to Father, everything went well with Lys, Link took care of me, and, as soon as we came back to the Mansion, we worked on our lectures.

Father was right. The finals were in less than a month, and Link and I had so many things to work on. No matter how smart Link was - despite that he didn't believe me when I said so - his stay at the hospital made him late on his different lectures, and I could only help him in math. If we were still at the dorms, I was sure that he would have worked a bit with Bozai, and it would have been easier for him.

Maybe we should do our working sessions again at the dorms ? We would just sleep at the Mansion at night, and it would be fine ?

But, at the moment, we were just the two of us in the dining room, working on our own on two different topics. If Link was trying to learn everything about 'History of sports', I was fighting against the urge to throw my economic book away. I caught Link looking at me with a smile sometimes, especially when I was complaining about how boring and uninteresting my current lesson was, while he was super calm and focused.

He was taking notes or reading his book, making his pen spin between his fingers, and, of course, I tried to imitate him. And obviously, my pen fell on the parquet more than once, which made him laugh way too hard.

« I see my little Princess is inattentive tonight. »

« One day I will make it spin like a pro ! »

« I can't wait to see. », Link teased me. « Look, just do it like that... »

He slowly showed me how he made it move between his fingers, decomposing each move and letting me have enough time to follow him. But, if I was a poor drummer and making the drumsticks spin between my fingers, I could tell that I was as pitiful with a pen.

So, after many tries and many fits of laughter, I finally admitted defeat.

« I will never be as skilled as you. », I mumbled.

« Being inattentive in high-school helped a lot. », he laughed. « Maybe I didn't learn a shit ton of useless bullshit, but now I know this little trick. »

« Link ! », I exclaimed, but I had to admit, it was impressive. « Maybe that's why I will never make it spin like a pro. »

« Don't say that, one day you will succeed. You just have to be a bit less attentive at school. », Link tried to reassure me, but even himself didn't really believe in his words. « Oh Zel ! »

He cupped my cheeks in his fingers and did a little Eskimo kiss that made me laugh.

« Look, I will never be as bright as you - », he continued.

« Even though you are smart but you just don't believe it »

« I'm not smart. I've always been an athlete and I never liked school. I narrowly graduated high school. »

« But you graduated even though you were most of time in another country for a championship. You trained, you contested, you were probably tired because of your sports and time difference, you couldn't go to your lectures and you had to catch up constantly, but no matter how intense your schedule was, you graduated. », I said. « I'm sure some of your classmates didn't graduate or didn't have higher grades even if they were always in class. »

« If you say so. », he rolled his eyes, smiling. « I'm not that good. »

« Hey ! You are good, you just need someone to motivate you. Look, you were sure to be a walking disaster in math, but you're, in fact, pretty good at it. You just didn't like it so you didn't work on it, but as soon as you started involving yourself in this credit : poof ! Your grades increased more than expected ! », I exclaimed. « You are smart, Link. Even more than smart, you're bright. Really. But you don't like school, I admit. »
