I nearly die cause of a fictional duck, a s'more, and an overprotective brother

"Ow, get off, you idiots- I think you just crushed my ribs," I complained, trying to push my six new siblings off while trying to wriggle out from underneath the pileup. "Ack- I can't breathe-"

Will, being Will, immediately panicked on hearing the words 'crushed ribs', pulling the others off me. "Don't move," he told me, poking at my ribs.

Oh my gods, this idiot-

"Jeez, mom, I'm fine," I swatted Will's hand away. "It was a joke-"

"Well, don't joke about stuff like that, you genuinely scared me," Will chided, swatting me back as the other Apollo kids laughed.

"Yep, you're one of us already, Y/N," Austin put his arm around my shoulder. "Also, nice highlights."

"Wait, my hair color changed?!"

"Just the front parts, you have face-framing highlights now," Kayla told me. "Apparently, the same thing happened to Will when he got claimed, almost seven years ago- I don't know, I wasn't here back then."

"Yeah," Will laughed. "Except my hair went from brown to blond," he lifted the top section of his golden blond hair, showing the brown strands underneath.

(A/N: That's like, my favorite headcanon- Will originally being a brunette, but turning blond on being claimed)

"So, technically, you two got sunkissed," Jerry joked, making everyone laugh.

"Pretty much," Kayla snickered, pulling me to my feet. "Think you can do another song, Y/N? We have a silly one lined up."

"Nah, I'm tired, I think I'll go sit down- maybe get some water." I smiled, patting her shoulder.

"Well, alright then."

I headed off to find myself somewhere to sit, but Leo waved me over.

"That was amazing," he complimented, pulling out a bottle of water from his toolbelt and handing it to me. "Also, congratulations on getting claimed in the most epic way possible."

I laughed, taking a sip of the water. "Thanks, but really, I wasn't that great-"

"Are you kidding? Didn't you see the whole camp dancing when you were singing?"

I waved him away. "Shush-"

"Nope, I won't shush, Rapunzel." He held out a s'more. "Want one?"

"Ooh, thanks," I took the s'more from him, taking a bite. "Gosh, this is good-"

"I know right? Hey- have you had a tour of the camp yet? I could show you around tomorrow."

I smiled at him, taking another bite out of my s'more. "That sounds great."

Just then, the music started up again, as the rest of the camp began to sing, or rather, bellow completely off-key, which might have been on purpose.

[All of Camp Half-Blood, completely off-key, half of them trying to sing between giggles:]
Bomp bomp bomp, ba-dum ba-bomp
A duck walked up to a lemonade stand

I laughed, and choked on my s'more, coughing violently as Leo turned to look at me, his eyes wide in alarm, before he burst out laughing at my expense.

I kicked him, punching myself in the ribs to dislodge the s'more. "You jerk- I'm dying here, and you're laughing at me?!"

"Ow," Leo snickered, rubbing his shin. "Feisty much?"

I rolled my eyes. "Whatever- also, what is up with the sheer amount of ridiculousness?"

"Silly songs are campfire tradition," Leo replied, trying to hold back giggles.

[All of CHB:]
The duck said, "I'll pass."
Then he waddled away, waddle waddle
 Till the very next day, bomp bomp bomp, ba-dum ba-bomp

I snorted, and that set Leo off, as the two of us collapsed in a fit of giggles, him knocking me over as he lost his balance and went down.

"O-oh jeez," I gasped, between giggles, trying to catch my breath, only to get stuck completely helpless in another fit of uncontrollable laughter as Leo and I made eye contact, tears streaming down our faces.

Suddenly, Leo straightened up, letting go of me, wiping his tears and looking at something in the distance as his face flushed.

I followed his gaze, only to see Will, glaring at us with a look that could incinerate someone on the spot. I rolled my eyes and flipped my brother off. Overprotective much, buddy? 

Will began stomping over, and I slapped Leo's arm. "Go, hide- Will looks like he wants to murder you."

Leo threw a panicked glance in Will's direction and scrambled off to hide behind Festus.

"Y/N L/N," Will stomped over, arms crossed. "What was that about?"

I rolled my eyes. "The song was hilarious, we couldn't help laughing-"

"That is not the point, you were literally holding onto each other."

"So?" I raised an eyebrow. "We lost balance, also, if you're gonna get all Mama Bear and stop me for making friends-"

"That didn't look very platonic to me."

"NICO, COME GET YOUR MAN-"
