Flower gleam and glow, let your power shineeeeee-

(A/N: I had a stroke of inspo, so, I decided to write this in 30 min total before I even started TSATS lol- I'm reading The Cruel Prince rn, and it does NOT live up to the hype)


"Y/N, I REALLY hope that your hair can heal," Nico said as we walked to the infirmary. "Will's been overworking himself, and it would be better if there were someone to take a part of the load."

"Will does tend to go overboard, doesn't he?" Leo asked.

"That's just Will for you," I said, a little concerned for my brother. "Will might seem like a total ball of sunshine, and sure, he's a warm, kind guy, but he's not a cheerful, upbeat, happy-go-lucky guy."

"Exactly," Nico nodded. "A lot of people think that he is, what with his sunshine-incarnate looks, but he's quite the serious, determined hard worker, and he cares a lot about people... maybe even too much sometimes."

"He's gotta learn to take a break," I agreed, pushing open the door to the infirmary. "Hey, Will- why do you have glitter everywhere?"

Will sighed, pulling his gloves off. "The Athena kids were just here, but I told them that glitter is not my specialty."
Suddenly, his lips twitch into a devilish smirk. "Whoever did this, they have my eternal respect because that was GOLD."

I grinned, exchanging a look with Leo before thumping my brother on the shoulder. "You're secretly a little gremlin, aren't you?"

Will gasped dramatically, putting a hand to his heart in mock offense. "I don't know what you're talking about, I'm an angel-"

"Yeah, right," Nico muttered, much to Leo's amusement. "Anyways, let's get to the point, we're here to find out if Y/N's glowy Rapunzel hair has the same healing powers."

"Right, right," Will nodded, leading us to sit on one of the infirmary beds. "So, Y/N, your hair glows when you sing, right?"

I nodded, tugging at my newly golden-blonde face-framing strands. "Yep, but it's just the front pieces."

"Right, got that, so, I tend to glow too when I heal someone, so there's a possibility that your glowing hair might also mean the presence of a healing ability-"

"Wait," Leo interrupted, looking bewildered. "Does this mean that Rapunzel is a kid of Apollo too?"

We all froze, whipping our heads around to face Leo.

"Wait, hang on..."

"Holy crap, why did I never think about that? Or is she just blessed by Apollo because she got her powers from the flower?"

"Okay, okay, calm down, everyone," Nico said, smacking his hands on the rock-hard mattress to get our attention. "Back to topic-"

"You sure are anxious to get your boyfriend a break, huh?" Leo teased, which led to Nico shoving him off the bed. "HEY-"

I just shook my head, smiling at their antics before turning to Will. "So, what should I sing?"

"FLOWER GLEAM AND GLOW!!!" Leo yelled, jumping back onto the bed and bouncing around like a happy toddler. "Please, please, pleaseeeee?"

I stifled a laugh. Oh my gods, he's so cute- wait, where the hell did that come from?

Um, anyways-

"Well, flower gleam and glow it is," I said, turning to Will. "So, what am I supposed to try and heal?"

"Nothing too serious," Will said, taking a scalpel from the nearest table and slicing his palm with it, hissing slightly at the pain.

Nico seemed to visibly pale at the sight of Will's blood, but the latter shot him a reassuring smile.

Ohmygods, they're the cutest couple ever, and I'd fight anyone who disagrees.

If they don't get married, I'm gonna rampage.

"Alright..." I took my brother's injured hand into mine, taking a deep breath. "Here goes nothing..."

Flower gleam and glow
Let your power shine
Make the clock reverse
Bring back what once was mine

The golden strands of my hair began to glow, and the boys gasped, watching Will's cut close up and heal. Oh my gods, it's working-

Heal what has been hurt
Change the Fates' design
Save what has been lost
Bring back what once was mine
What once was mine

As I finished the song, the glow faded from my hair, and Will wiped the remaining blood off his palm with a piece of cotton, revealing no trace of the cut from earlier.

"Wow..." Nico muttered, giving me an approving grin. "Not bad, Y/N."

"THAT WAS SO COOL!!" Leo yelled, throwing his arms in the air and knocking Nico off the bed. "Oops, sorry not sorry, Nico- call it revenge."

"I hate you..."

"I'm so proud of you, sis," Will said softly, beaming brightly at me.

I flushed. "Oh come on, I just glowed and healed your cut, it's not like I graduated med school at the top of my class."

"Hey, I'm still proud of you-"

I laughed, hugging Will tightly. "You know, with how you act when I'm around Leo, it's easy to forget that you're just a big ball of sunshine."

"Hey, I'm not THAT bad-"

"Yes. Yes, you are," Leo and I both deadpanned simultaneously.

(A/N: This chapter is much longer than the corresponding one from the original because I never went into much depth for the characters and their personalities in the first version- and I also felt like I needed to address the problem with Will representation in fanfics)
