Birthday

"Why is y/n in a mood" Lucy asks Tim as they grab the war bags.

"It's her birthday." Tim replies walking to the shop

Lucy runs to catch up still confused. "Well if it's her birthday shouldn't she be happy?"

"Nope." Tim shoves the bag in the back then turns to face Lucy. "Every year something terrible happens on her birthday."

"Well why doesn't she take the day off?" Lucy asks doing the same as Tim

"She tried that last year and let's just say that didn't end well." Tim says getting into the driver side

"What happened?" Lucy asks

"She nearly lost her house to a stove fire. Luckily LAFD got their fast." Tim says as they start driving on the roads

"So does she just stay at the station all day or what." She asks wanting to know everything

"She tries to but a cops gotta do what a cops gotta do." He says as a call comes through. They go to that call and end the cover station their.

You were in the station sitting at Angela's desk. "I just need the most chill case. One that won't take me out of the station all day" you explain to Angela

"Ah yes. Let me just reach into the y/n folder real quick." She says jokingly. You ask Angela every year for a case like this just to play it safe. "I've got a missing a person case." She say raising her eyebrows

"Nope. I want to finish the case today and not have to worry about it." You say shaking your head

"Alright." She countries to scroll on her computer. "How about this one? It's a stolen bike. All you would have to do is log the pa-"

"OFFICER L/N!" Grey shouts over everyone

You stand up slowly worried about what happened. "Yes?"

"Come here!" He yells

"Welp. Cause I'm not making it to my next birthday. You say to Angela making her laugh as you walk away.

You step into his office shutting the door. "You needed me."

"Yes I've got a case for you." He says handing you a folder.

You look at the case. It's a drug lords file and mixed in is all the warrants we have for him and his houses. "Sir could I do this tomorrow? I-"

"Get over your fear l/n. Nothing will go wrong. You are a good cop. Plus I don't trust any other officer with this guy" He says standing up with you. "Also take Aaron. Nylas out of town today."

"Yes sir." You say slightly annoyed that you plan for today has already fallen through. You walk out of his office and are greeted with Aaron.

"Hey! I'm excited to ride with you. I've heard great things" he says as he stands there. You look at him with a plain face. "Oh I'm sorry. I mean I've already got the shop set up and ready to go."

"Ok. Get in the shop. I'll be there in a minutes." You say walking towards Angela

Once you get to her desk she looks up at you and smiles trying to hold back laughter. "I take it it wasn't good?" She asks struggling not to laugh m

"You tell me. Case 20211126548" you say reading off the folder. "If I'm not here at the station by 6 I'm dead." You say walking off

"Good luck y/n!" Angela yells turning around to you. "Oh and happy birthday."

You make it to the shop and sit in the drivers seat. "Where to first rookie." You say handing him the case.
