TW: {Elijah/Cussing}

~Micheal's P.O.V~

Elijah had a strong grip on my hand, as if I was going to pull away. "Where are we going EJ?" I asked, he looked back at me and smiled, "Elijah look out", Elijah turned around only to run face first into a tree. He stumbled back falling over, falling on top of me in the process, I couldn't help but laugh as he groaned and held his face. "Dumbass" I said between laughs, Elijah whined and continued laying on my lap, I was pretty much sitting criss-crossed with his head on my lap. I gently grabbed his wrist and pulled them away from his face, "Let me see" I spoke gently, like when I did when my siblings would fall and scrape their knee, they would always sit there clutching it....sobbing, it always hurt my heart watching it. "That hurt" Elijah mumbled, sitting up and turning around to face me, a soft smile on his lips. I rolled my eyes, "Should have been watching where you were going", he scoffed "You asked me a question, I was being polite and turning around to face you" Elijah lightly pushed me over, I let myself fall back. Elijah let out a contented sigh and moved over next to me, laying on his back as we looked up past the gaps of the trees.

"The sky is so pretty here" I said smiling, I've never really just stopped to look at it, "You should see it in the night, there are little white dots that shine" Elijah said, he sounded like a child in awe. "Are you talking about stars?" I asked rolling on my side to face him, propping my head up with my arm. He copied me, rolling on his side and doing the same with his arm. "They have a name?" he asked his eyes full of curiosity, "So...the really big one is called a star too?" he asked rolling on his back to look up again. I laughed a little, using my other hand to brush his hair out of his face, "No~ That's called a moon" Elijah looked at me confused, "Why must everything have a name". "Well...so we know what to call it when we are talking about it" I said standing up and brushing the dirt off of my clothes, my skirt now a dirt color. Elijah followed getting up and gently grabbing my hand, this time he paid attention to where he was going, successfully avoiding trees and anything he could fall on.

Eventually we made it to a clearing, and Elijah made me stand near a tree a few feet away, "Now...don't freak out, it's still me" he said holding is hands up. I rolled my eyes, "I'm not gonna get freaked out" I answered back, Elijah nodded, "Close your eyes", I sighed and closed my eyes, even through my eyelids the flash was blinding, so much that I still had to turn around and rub my eyes from the shock. "Ok....you can turn around slowly...just remember it's still me." Elijah spoke rather calmly. I sighed and turned around, as I glanced at him my eyes widened, and I looked around wildly, to see if this was some kind of trick. "W-Wha?". Where Elijah was standing was now replaced with a rather large griffen, his feathers, unlike a normal griffin or one that we would see in a book, were varying shades of red, his blue eyes, now cat like slits. "Elijah?" I asked as the griffin began approaching me.

My breath caught in my throat as the soft fur of his head pressed against my chest, "It's me" he cooed getting closer. He walked behind me, and laid down, before using his wing to pull me closer to him, I tripped in the process, he snorted and pulled me against him. I squeaked as he dragged his beak through my hair, "What are you doing?!" Elijah pulled back and looked down at me unimpressed, "Pruning?" he mumbled trying to go back to it. "What's that?" I asked gently pushing his head away. "It's like grooming but for birds" he mumbled giving up on it. I'm tired...can we sleep?" he asked laying his head down on the ground next to me. 'Does shifting take a lot of energy...because he wasn't acting like this a moment ago...it seems like he was full of energy' I thought leaning back against him. His fur, and his feathers were soft, fluffy almost I laid my head on his side yawning, 'I'm so gonna get sunburnt from this' I thought, as if on cue Elijah covered me with his wing, blocking the sun. He picked up his head only to curve it back and lay it on my lap, I gently placed a hand on it, stroking it with my fingers "Your so soft", I praised petting him more, he let out a small chirp like pur mix.
