Later that night Abby was sitting on the couch in Hope's room waiting for her to come back from her procedure. All Abby could think of was the kiss she shared with Chris.
He finally opened up and told her how he really felt about her and so did she. She was so deep in thought she didn't hear someone come in the room
"Abby."
When she looked up she saw it was Chris and she smiled.
"Hi." Abby said
"Hey." Chris said, sitting down next to her. "I brought you some tea." He said, handing her a cup.
"Thanks." She said, taking a sip.
Chris sat down next to Abby and held her hand, she placed her head on his shoulder.
"How ya holding up." He said
"What If this procedure doesn't work, we're right back where we started." Abby said, lifting up her head from Chris's shoulder and placing her hand on her head.
"I wish there was something I could say to reassure you that everything is gonna be ok but i just don't know what to say." He said
"Just you being here with me and loving hope the way you do is worth more than words." Abby said
Chris smiled and leaned over and softly kissed her.
Chris and Abby were lost in each other's gaze, they didn't hear a nurse come in.
"Hi sorry to disturb you but the dr just informed me that hope just got out of surgery and she should be back up here in about an hour." The nurse said.
"Thank you nurse." Chris said
He looked at Abby and saw that the color drained from her face.
"Hey what's wrong." Chris said
"What if the doctor tells us that hope may never recover, i don't think I can handle that." Abby said
"Abigail, i want you to listen to me, right now we don't know anything, we won't know anything till the doctor comes up and tells us. So what I want you to do is just take a deep breath and relax. Can you do that for me?" Chris said
Abby shook her head yes and did what Chris asked she closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
"For now we are gonna go down to the cafeteria and get something to eat while we wait for hope to come back. Ok." Chris said
"Ok." Abby said with a smile.
Chris smiled back.
When they left the room they told the nurse where they were going so she could come tell them that hope was back up to her room.
On the other side of town Pamela was putting her plan into motion.
She was back at Dr Goodwin's office to find out the results that she was waiting for.
"Ok Rodrick so what are the results?" Pamela asked.
Rodrick grabbed the file and read them.
"Well come on now don't keep me waiting." Pamela said
"inconclusive." Rodrick said
"Yes i knew it, wait did you say inconclusive." Pamela said in shock.
"Yes, I said inconclusive." Rodrick said
"How in the hell are tests inconclusive, what the hell does that even mean." She asked.
"It means that the company I used for the results couldn't find a match between your son and this woman's child." He said
