ditched Grover as soon as they made it to the bus stop. But in their defense, Grover was freaking them out with how much he was muttering things like, "Why does this always happen?" and, "Why is it always sixth grade?"

Grover had to use the bathroom when they got off, so after making them promise they would stay put and wait, he made a beeline for the restroom. But instead of waiting, Percy grabbed his suitcase and Cam's bag, stuffing it into her arms and pushing her in the other direction.

They had started to head uptown, Percy looking for a taxi before finally finding one and climbing inside. He gently pushed Cam in and told the driver, "East One-hundred-and-fourth and First."

He had no idea what Cam was thinking, considering how quiet she was being and her face had no expression whatsoever.

Until she muttered, "That was kind of a dick move."

"Yeah, I know but he's freaking me out," Percy replied with a whisper-yell. "It's like he's trying to figure out what flowers he wants to put on our caskets."

"Blue for you, obviously. And if I don't have purple, someone else can have that grave, I don't want it."

"Camille, I'm being serious." Cam felt the strange feeling at Percy using her full name, because he definitely doesn't do it often.

"And so am I. You want roses or Hydrangeas. I think blue roses exist right? I kind of want Morning Glories. Wait, Irises can be Blue or Purple right? Ooo, we can share flowers," Cam told him excitedly.

"For our funerals?" Percy asked.

"Oh, right. ADHD makes stuff really distracting. Oh look, it's raining," Cam noticed, looking past Percy and out the window. Cam looked into the rear view mirror and noticed the questioning look on the driver's face, so she decided to keep quiet the rest of the ride.

When they finally made it to Percy's apartment, Cam grabbed her red jacket from her bag and put it over them as they crossed the street. When Percy opened the door, Cam could already smell the scent of tobacco and beer fill the air. Cam felt bad that Percy and his mom had to live like this. That they had to live with Gabe Ugliano.

"So, you're home," Gabe barely looked up, ignoring Cam and looking at Percy.

"Where's my mom?" Percy asked, ignoring Gabe's comment.

"Working," Gabe answered. "You got any cash?"

"I don't have any cash," Percy said, but Cam knew it was a lie because the driver gave him change. She wouldn't dare say anything though.
