"𝐁𝐄 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐅𝐔𝐋." Devin mumbled against Kai's lips. A smile stretched across the blond's face and he pulled her closer, his hands resting on his hips."Always am." He assured her before pecking her lips.
"Let's go, Kai." Noah called out with a smirk as he climbed into the back of the van.
"I love you, now get outta here." Devin kissed him one more time before backing away from him.
The young Grimes man smiled like a complete dork. Hearing those words come out of Devin's mouth made his stomach do backflips. She loves him. "I'll see ya soon." He told her before joining the others in the van.
"What was that about?" Glenn asked with a teasing smile as Aiden started to drive.
Kai looked at him confused. "What was what?" His brows furrowed and head tilted.
Tara laughed, shaking her head. "He's talking about that with Devin." She playfully smiled.
"Oh that." The blond grinned, tapping his finger against his leg, he wasn't sure on how to answer that.
"Oh, that." Noah playfully mocked. "When did that happen?"
Kai shrugged. "Early this morning." He told his friends.
"So, you two together now?" Glenn asked, tilting his head.
The boy sighed, licking his lips. "Sorta. . . I guess. We haven't exactly put a label on it yet."
"Enough chit-chat, we're here." Nicholas said as the van rolled to a stop.
Kai and Tara shared an eye roll at the dude's attitude as they climbed out the back door. After Noah climbed out he handed Kai his gun and the blond sent him a nod.
"Looks like that door is our fastest way in and out." Aiden said, nodding to the warehouse door.
"We should know all the exits first." Glenn suggested, sharing a look with Kai and Tara. "So there's a plan if things go south."
"Already got one." Nicholas smirked. "It's called going out the front."
Kai scoffed, narrowing his eyes. "It's a wonder they've made it this far." He muttered only loud enough Glenn could hear. The Rhee man glanced over at him and nodded, silently agreeing with the younger man.
"Noah, heads up." Tara said, nodding towards the lone walker heading their way.
"Got it." Noah shot the Walker with his silenced gun.
"Look at you with the aim." Aiden smirked handing Noah a rifle. He then looked at Nicholas. "Glenn's right, we should do a perimeter check. Know our exits just in case."
Kai's brows shot up, he hadn't expected Aiden to agree with Glenn. He shrugged it off. "Let's do this." He muttered and the seven of them broke off into smaller groups to scope the place out.
Glenn, Kai and Noah stuck together and rounded the building. "It was good aim back there." Glenn told Noah.
The boy nodded. "Target practice helped." He smirked a bit. "Actually, last week, I was pretty close to practicing on Aiden. . . Nick too, after he attacked Kai."
Kai scoffed and lifted his hand up to his face. "It still hurts when I think about it." He admitted and the three of them laughed. Soon their smiled faded when their heard the familiar sound of walkers snarling.
The three went around the corner and in front of them, behind a chain fence was a dozen or so walkers, more than they could take on. "Front door my ass." Kai scoffed, rolling his eyes.
"Come on, let's meet back up with the others." Glenn nodded for the two younger men to follow him.
------------
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐏 𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐄𝐓𝐋𝐘 entered the building. Kai stuck close to his people, he couldn't care less about what happened to Nicholas and Aiden. As they proceeded further into the warehouse they started to hear metal rattling. "Shh." Glenn whispered and they all froze. That's when the snarls filled the air."they're stuck behind something. "
"How do you know?" Aiden wondered, leaning closer to the man.
Glenn shrugged. "I don't." He admitted. "But they aren't here."
Aiden nodded. "Alright. Hey, let's go." Glenn told the group and they slowly started to move again.
Suddenly a walker jumped up against a chain fence, startling the group. More walkers soon joined it. "I think we're good." Kai spoke after a few minutes.
Glenn nodded. "Yeah. We're clear."
Aiden's brows shot up. "You know your stuff." He sounded almost impressed.
"We were out there a long time." Tara muttered.
"There could be more." Glenn warned.
Aiden nodded, but he didn't seem too concerned. "Let's get to work." He instructed.
Tara turned to Eugene. "You're up."
The group then parted ways to take a look around. Kai walked along some boxes lined up, pointing his flashlight at the labels. He paused when he started to hear a silent popping sound. . . something he recognized as the quiet pop of a gun with a silencer on it. He huffed and took off towards the noise.
"Aiden, Stop!" He heard Glenn yell seconds before an explosion.
