「𝓬𝓱𝓪𝓹𝓽𝓮𝓻 𝓮𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽」don't let go

𝐏𝐀𝐈𝐍 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇 Kai's left leg along with something weighing down his legs. It kept him from being able to move. "Son of a bitch." He coughed, lifting his head up. It was dark but he could make out that it had been a shelf that fell across his legs. From what he could tell his left leg had taken the most damage.

"Kai?" Noah's panic filled voice echoed around the warehouse.

"My leg is stuck!" The blond called out.

"Help him, I've got Tara and Eugene." Glenn yelled to Noah and moments later Kai saw Noah appear by his side.

"Are you okay?" He asked crouching down beside him.

Kai huffed, using his elbows to sit up. "My leg is trapped and the ringing in my ears is starting to give me a headache." His nose crinkled as he complained.

Noah frowned. "I'll get you out, man." He assured the blond, planting his hands on the shelf.

"We got walkers! Noah get Kai to the office!" Glenn yelled from somewhere in the building.

Noah grunted, trying to lift the shelf as the sound of snarling grew closer to the two. "Shit." Kai cursed and attempted to help Noah push the shelf off of him.

The walkers grew closer and they two had yet to free Kai. The young Grimes man let out a soft sigh and stopped messing with the shelf. "Noah. . . Noah, stop." He muttered.

Noah shook his head. "I almost have it." His voice was strained as he talked.

Kai laid his head down on the cold concrete floor. "Go. . . this isn't gonna work and you need to go." He told him.

Noah finally stopped what he was doing and looked down at Kai. "I can't just leave you here to die." He shook his head.

The blond closed his eyes. "I'm stuck. . . you ain't. You'd be a damn idiot to stay out here and die."

"Opposed to Devin killing me herself for leaving you like this? I think my options are pretty damn lim-"

"Somebody help!" Aiden's voice echoed all around them.

"How the hell is he still alive?" Noah wondered with wide eyes.

"Help!"

"He's drawin' 'em away." Kai muttered, watching as the walkers that were heading straight for him and Noah started towards the yelling.

Bloodcurdling screams them filled the air and Glenn ran over. "We gotta go." He frantically said and helped Noah get the shelf off of Kai's legs. "Can you walk?" He asked, pulling Kai off of the ground.

The blond stumbled a bit. "Don't got much of a choice." He hissed pushing Noah and Glenn ahead of him. "I'm right behind y'all."

The three ran after Nicholas into the lobby. "You'll never make it!" Glenn yelled as the man ran towards the front door.

The man didn't listen and ran straight out the spinning doors. When he saw all the walkers he immediately turned around.

Walkers filled the lobby and Kai shot a couple before being pulled into the spinning doors by Glenn and Noah, only to be trapped in the door because Nicholas ran in.

The four men were tapped. Nicholas in one part of the doors, Glenn, Noah and Kai in the other. Walkers from both inside and out started to bang on the glass.

"Fuck." Kai clenched his fist. He wasn't claustrophobic or anything but being where he was at that present moment was enough to make anyone hyperventilate. "Now what asshole?!" He yelled over to Nicholas.

"Not now, Kai." Glenn shook his head.

"Maybe we could shoot past them!" Nicholas yelled. "You still have guns."

"You have the ammo!" Kai shouted, growing more frustrated.

"We've got to do something, man!" Nicholas yelled back. "We're gonna die in here."

"There has to be another way. There has to be another way."

A horn beeped outside along with loud music. "Hey! Hey! Over here!" Eugene screamed driving by. The outside walkers followed the van.

"Who knew he had it in him." Kai muttered with a small smile.

"Alright. Hey. I need you guys-hey, Nicholas!" Glenn banged on the glass. "I need you guys to keep the door steady, alright? I'm gonna break the glass. We get out, you push out. We get the rifle and we're good." The Rhee man started to hit the glass with the end of his gun.

"No! No, stop! It's not safe!" Nicholas screamed, pushing on the door.

"Chill!" Kai yelled, keeping his feet planted.

"It's not gonna break!" Nicholas panicked.

"It will. We can hold it." Noah assured him. "Trust me, okay? Count of three. One, two-"

Nicholas started to push the door and Kai's feet started to slide causing pain through his left leg. "Stop!" They all yelled at Nicholas.

The door started to open and Noah held onto Glenn and Kai. When Nicholas slipped out a walker grabbed Noah's legs and the three fell to the ground.

Kai knew that his fingernails were probably digging into Noah's arm. There was no doubt about it, especially when he started to lose his grip. But as long as Noah would live, he was sure that he wouldn't care about the moon shape indentions in his arm.

"Don't let go." Noah told his friends, his eyes widened in fear but in a flash it was gone and he allowed himself to be taken by the walkers.

Kai fell back onto his butt and buried his head in his hands as Noah's screams filled the air. Glenn shook as he leaned back with his back against Kai's knees as he watched Noah get torn to shreds.

The two sat there for a few moments and their panicked breaths filling the air that was once filled by Noah's screams.
