𝐃𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐍 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐘. . . she was ready to let go of the guilt she has carried for most of the apocalypse. After her talk with Glenn, talking about T-dog, she remembered something he had said to her months before they found the prison. . . months before she was able to heal after Shane's death.

The supply run had been mostly quiet, Devin and T-dog didn't have a lot to talk about nor did they have anything in common, well. . . other than the fact that they could both really use a pack of sour gummy worms.

“damnit.” Devin cursed after accidentally dropping a glass jar of pickles. It wouldn't of been much but atleast it was food, but now it was scattered all over the floor.

“Hey, it's okay. We'll find something else before heading back.” T-dog assured her as he walked around the shelf to see the girl.

Two weeks had passed since they lost the farm and it was clear to everyone that Devin wasn't as okay as she was letting on, because having little outbursts was a very clear giveaway that she was not okay.

“Bullshit! We're not gonna find shit. This is it. We're done for and Jenner was right. Staying at the CDC would've been easier than all this shit! Better even!” Devin's voice raised as she kicked some of the broken glass across the floor.

T-dog's eyes softened and he sighed. “Listen kid. . . I get it—”

“No! No, you don't!” The girl's voice broke as her blue eyes became glossy.

The man nodded a little. “What happened on the farm with Shane was fucked up. You're angry and that's okay, but you gotta let it go. . . let him go.”

Devin glared at him with tears threatening to fall. “stop!”

“I'm not trying to be an ass, Devin. You deserve to find peace, kid. . . you ain't gonna do that until you let him go so you can start healing. ”

Finally tears fell freely down her freckled cheeks and she shook her head. “I don't know how.” She sniffled.

T-dog hummed. “You're gonna figure it out. And you'll feel better. . . until then, these'll help.” he pulled some sour gummy worms out of his jacket pocket.

Devin smiled and worked on wiping away her tears. “yeah, those will definitely help.” —

Devin could definitely use some sour gummy worms right about now.

𝐊𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘 𝐅𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 time to explore Alexandria, aside from just following her friends around. Exploring the community alone was peaceful. It reminded her of the old world and for a second she almost forgot about the horrors of the new world. . . almost.

"Hey, Katie-Bear!" A teasing voice called out and Kate looked over to see Benji jogging over to her.

"Hey. . . Benji?" Kate raised a brow unsure.

"Yeah, Benji. You're Kaitlyn. Devvy's friend." The boy grinned.

Kate hummed. "That's me." She smiled a little.

Benji stared at her and nodded his head. "You've got a pretty smile." He complemented her.

Kate laughed, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Wow, Devin didn't say one of her friends was a real charmer." She tried to hide her blush.
