Kevin huffed loudly as he sat down in his seat in the Bull Pen, running a hand over his face as he started reading over the case they were currently investigating. He looked up when he heard footsteps and smiled when he saw his smaller lover, Jay Halstead standing shyly at the entrance of the Bull Pen; the young man was stood in a hoodie that was most definitely Kevins and a pair of jeans.
"You ok babe?" Kevin asked softly, the IT tech nodding, looking anxiously around the bull pen and letting a sigh out as he saw nobody else was there
Jay was mute, a childhood of abuse had led to him loosing the confidence to speak and choosing to stay quiet. Kevin had fallen for the quiet man almost 5 years ago, the IT tech helping find the missing piece to close a case. The younger had needed driven home, and Kevin had offered, even treated him to a pizza; the rest had been history.
"Come sit for a while, their all out at lunch" Kevin smiled, opening his arms for the smaller 25 year old to sit with him
Kevin chuckled as Jay huddled onto his lap, oressing small kisses on Kevins neck while his hands clutched the back of his tshirt.
"How's your work going beautiful" Kevin asked softly
Jay only shrugged, and cuddled deeper into Kevin as he heard loud voices coming up the stairs. The older detective shushed Jay gently as he felt the younger tense up and a small tremble run through his small body.
"Oh shit, sorry Kev" a voice spoke
"It's all good, we'll go to his office for a bit, not you guys fault" Kevin smiled, tapping Jays hips to get the younger to stand up
"Home" Jay drew onto Kevins hand
"I'm going to take him home actually, my paperwork is done, see you all Monday" Kevin said, taking Jays small hand and squeezing it softly
"That's fine" Hank said, smiling at Jay who his behind Kevin with a shy smile on his face
Jay just gripped Kevins hand tightly as he followed the older man down the stairs and into the car park where Kevin helped the smaller into the passenger seat, buckling him up and pressing a gentle kiss to his lips.
"When we get home, what would you like to do?" Kevin asked softly
"Cuddles and movies" Jay signed, a smile on his face
"Of course babe" Kevin smiled, starting up the car and heading towards the small house the couple shared
Jay sat back and just watched out the window wuietly as Kevin drove, the smaller man had reached out and taken his boyfriends hand and was gently squeezing it every so often. The drive was over in twenty minutes and Jay jumped out the car slowly, following Kevin into the house.
"Go get dressed beautiful, I'll be on the sofa" Kevin whispered, kissing Jay gently
The younger only nodded, walking through the house to the bedroom and shutting the door behind him. While Jay was changing Kevin set up the sofa with warm blankets, grabbing some sweets from the cupboard as well as a bottle
of beer for each of them. He turned around when he heard a small cough, smiling softly when he saw Jay now dressed a pair of sleep pants but still in the hoodie from earlier.
"What movie baby?" Kevin asked, sitting on the sofa in just his underwear, having stripped his clothes into the washing machine
Jay only shook his head, wringing his hands nervously as he looked at Kevin with wide eyes and a blush on his face.
"What's up babe, I need you to use your words" Kevin said softly, he knew Jay only spoke if he was really comfortable, and most of the time that was only if it was just the two of them in the comfort of their house
"I don't feel well" Jay rasped quietly, and if Kevin wasn't used to the quietness of his boyfriends voice he would have missed what he said
"Oh baby" Kevun sighing , standing up and walking closer to his boyfriend
"Sorry" Jay mumbled, coughing as he cleared his throat
"Nothing to be sorry about beautiful, do you want to go to bed or stay here?" Kevin asked, wrapping his arms around Jay so his hands were resting on the smaller mans hips
"Here" Jay mumbled into Kevins chest
Kevin smiled softly as he walked with Jay attached to him over to the sofa, sitting down on the soft blankets and holding Jay so the younger was straddled on his lap.
"Hi" Kevin whispered
"Hi" Jay mumbled, a blush covering his face
"You ok?" Kevin asked softly
"My head really hurts" Jay whispered, cuddling into Kevins larger body
"Is that why you wanted to come home?" Kebin asked
"That and I was sick" Jay admitted softly
"Why didn't you call me, I'd have come through to you" Kevin sighed, starting a soft massage on Jays head
"Didn't wanna bother you" Jay sighed, closing his eyes as he became more comfortable
"You will never bother me beautiful" Kevin said, pulling a blanket over Jay who was slowly starting to fall asleep
"Sleepy" Jay mumbled
"Sleep baby, you're safe" Kevin whispered, pressing a gentle kiss to Jays head
