Hailey had seen the guy before, he was often at the more extreme scenes when they needed brute force to get into a suspect. She only knew him by the nickname he was called by the other SWAT members, Chaos, but had never heard his real name.
The small SWAT officer was currently stood staring at the Intelligence Team, he looked intimidating, in his all black uniform, the thick bullet proof vest, his long rifle strapped to his chest, a second gun strapped to his left thigh.
Beside her, Justin Voight let out a shakey sigh as he made eye contact with the SWAT officer, and turned away when the man and his own team started walking towards them.
"You ok J?" Hailey asked softly
"Yea, just need this case over, haven't seen my husband in a few weeks" Justin sighed, rubbing his eyes tiredly
As the SWAT team walked past, Hailey gaped as she saw the officer that had been staring at them all, whisper something to Justin who gulped with wide eyes before nodding.
"Back to the bullpen, paperwork and then you can all go home" Hank ordered
"What was that all about?" Hailey asked, as she climbed into the truck with Justin
"What you talking about?" Justin asked, putting the truck in reverse and pulling out of the industrial estate
"Between you and that guy from SWAT" Hailey said
"Oh, Jay, he's my husband" Justin said softly, not looking ag Hailey who gasped at the admittance
"You never told me that, I thought he was bothering you!" Hailey exclaimed
"I've told him to keep it professional at work, but we've not seen each other in weeks so he's pretty tense" Justin chuckled
"How long have you between together?" Hailey asked as they continued the drive to the district
"Since he was 16 and I 18, we served together until last year when we were both discharged" Justin said, pulling his visor down and handing Hailey a photo of two young soliders
"10 years" Hailey exclaimed, handing the photo back to Justin who smiled as he placed it back in its place
"Married for 5" Justin admitted
"You kept it quiet" Hailey said, slightly offended tbag Justin hadn't trusted her enough to tell her
"We kinda had to, we were both Rangers and did a lot of high level ops, hence why we both kept our last names, a safety thing" Justin explained
"You've both been out a year, could you not change now?" Hailey asked as they pulled into the parking lot
"We've started the process, Jay will be taking my name" Justin smiled, stopping as he saw his husband stood in the parking lot niw dressed in jeans and a polo shirt, his black SWAT baseball cap on backwards as it always was
"I'll let you two chat, see you upstairs" Hailey chuckled, getting out the truck and leaving the door open for the SWAT officer to climb in, watching as the man shut the door behind him
Justin turned in the drivers seat to look at his husband with a soft smile on his face; the SWAT officer looked tired and the older man reached out to take the younger mans hands and squeezing them gently.
"I gotta do paperwork first babe" Justin said softly
"I know, will it take long?" Jay asked, he was exhausted and just wanted to go home and cuddle in bed with his husband
"I'll be as quick as I can, I'll see you at home" Justin smiled, leaning forward and kissing Jay softly
"I'll warm the bed up, pick up some food on your way home?" Jay asked
