Connor 30
Will 29
Jay 25-
Jay sighed as he felt the plane touch down in Chiagco, it had been a long three year deployment, he had been 22 when he left. He had missed his oldest brother's wedding, the engagement of his middle brother and the death of his father.
He had been given medical discharge; he didn't remember much of what happened apart from the pain. He had woken up two days after the accident to be told none of his men made it out alive apart from him. He had shrapnel wounds all over his body; varying in size and deepness with the worse one on his neck that travelled all the way across his chest.
"Welcome back to Chaigco sir" the hostess amiled, and Jay only nodded, limping down the stairs of the plane and taking in the fresh Chiagco air
Walking slowly into the building, Jay was overcome with emotions; he hadn't seen his older brother's in three years and had missed some pretty important moments. He definitely felt like he had been the worlds worst baby brother and couldn't wait to just hug them close.
He grabbed his bags from the carosuel, wincing as he caught some of his bruises; he was still very sore and the doctors hadn't wanted to discharge him. Jay had fought them., explaining that his older brothers were doctors and would make sure he was ok.
"Jay!" a voice shouted, making the young 25 year old look up, a large smile appearing on his face as he saw his oldest brother Connor
"Connor" Jay whispered, quickening his pace and hugging the taller man close, breathing in his scent
"God, it's good to have you home" Connor whispered, tightly hugging his littlest brother eyes scanning over the scar visible on his neck
"Where's Will?" Jay asked as he let go of Connor
"At home with Kelly, he finished work about an hour ago" Connor chuckled, "Fell asleep as soon as he got in"
"I'm sorry I missed dads funeral, and your wedding and-" Jay was cut off by Connor
"Bud, it's ok, neither of us are angry at you" Connor sighed
"I just feel like I'm letting you both down" Jay mumbled, allowing Connor to take his bags as they walked to the car
"Never, Will and I are immensely proud of what you've accomplished, and now you're home to do the same thing" Connor smiled
"Is Ethan at home?" Jay asked, his own boyfriend had been another he felt he had let down over the last few years
"I'm here babe" a voice spoke, and Jay turned to see his lover stood with a small smile on his face
"Ethan" Jay whispered, turning around clumsily and falling into the doctors arms
"So glad you're safe, come on, let's get you home" Ethan whispered, hugging Jay loosely so he didn't hurt the war veteran
"The medical team from your base have sent all your notes to Med, Will and I can't be your doctors but we've asked Crockett and April to take over" Connor said, starting the car and looking in the mirror to see Jay leaning heavily on Ethan
"Sounds good" Jay mumbled, letting out a whimper as he jostled his bruises
"Want to tell us what happened?" Ethan asked softly as he helped Jay walk
"I don't really remember, I know it was a explosion, I just remember waking up in pain" Jay admitted, stopping to catch his breath as the pain increased
"You want us to tell you?" Connor asked, unlocking the car and throwing his brothers bags in the boot and then helping Ethan get the youngest Halstead into the truck
"Yea" Jay whispered, leaning on Ethans shoulder
"You're right hip and shoulder was dislocated and torn, right knee shattered, but you've had surgery to fix all that" Connor said softly
"What about the rest of my team?" Jay asked, gripping Ethans hand tightly as the pain only grew
"They didn't make it bud" Connor said softly
Jay went silent at the reply, letting tears fill
his eyes as he took in the fact that not only had he lost his place in the army after an honourable discharge but he had also lost his brothers in an explosion."How come I survived?" Jay asked
"You managed to walk the 10 miles to the base, nobody really knows how you managed it" Connor said softly, turning the car off and turning around to face Jay who was struggling with the pain
"It really hurts" Jay stuttered
"I know, we'll get you inside and give you some pain medicine" Ethan said softly, helping Jay out of the car and keeping his hands on the veterans waist to help him walk
"Ethan" Jay whimpered, stumbling as the pain in his hip increased
"I know baby, I know" Ethan soothed, stopping at the steps and motioning for Connor to help him
Connor wrapped his arms around Jays waist, while Ethan grabbed the veteran's underarms and together they helped the man walk up the stairs.
"Hey little brother" a voice spoke, and Jay looked up to see Will standing in front of him
"Hi" Jay breathed
"Come on, inside, Kelly made brownies" Will said, taking Jays hands and helping him into the house
"I need to go pick up Hank from the precinct" Connor said, kissing the side of Jays head
"Need to sit down" Jay mumbled, legs shaking
"Ok, come on, living room" Ethan said
Helping Jay sit down on the couch, placing cushions by the mans hips to keep them supported. Ethan sat on the left side, wrapping his arm around the mans neck and pressing a soft kiss on the mans head.
"There's my favourite Halstead" Kelly smiled, placing a plate of brownies on the table
"Hi Kel" Jay smiled, taking the pills that Will handed him with a gulp of water
