Kayla's pov
I went to Super Dope's house and I told him everything that's going on and he told me to follow my heart.
I don't know how when it's torn between two different people. Those people being Dallas Winston and Steve Randle. I never thought I'd see the day that I'd have feelings for Steve Randle.
I can't see myself with him ever, but I can't deny the way it felt when our eyes met it's like time froze.I felt like I could stay in his arms forever.
I never thought I'd say that about him. Then there's Dallas Winston the one boy who knows me as well as he knows himself. I love Dallas with all my heart but I know he can never be committed to me. I know who I should be with and who I want to be with. Who I should be with is Steve Randle and who I want to be with is Dallas Winston is who I want to be with how is that possible. I just need to talk to Steve hopefully he'd understand he probably doesn't feel the same way. I wish that my mom was here. I decided to leave Jessica at Buck's and take a walk. I went to the lot ans sat down on an old cat seat that Pony and Johnny had put here so they have somewhere to sit besides the ground. I looked up at the sky and the sunset was beautiful. I thought about how Pony loves sunsets like these, just like my mom used to love them. I just wish I could see her one last time. I wished that I could have one of her hugs and hear her comforting advice one last time.
"I wish you we're here. I need your advice. I don't know where to turn, I'm so lost without you mom." I said to myself knowing that nobody would hear me. I only wish that my mom was here to give me guidance. I felt a tap on my shoulder but it was ice cold. I turn around to see what had touched me.
I couldn't believe my eyes.
"M-mom? What are you doing here? How are you here?"
"I'm an angel in heaven it's simple, I'm your guardian Angel listen I know about everything that's going on. I've been watching I know what Dallas did and he will pay for it in the end. I also know what happened between you and Steve. I know for sure this time he is the one there is no doubt in my mind. I think you should figure things out on your own. I know you love Dallas he could be the one too, I think Steve is the better choice but always follow your heart. I'm always here for you all you have to do is whistle."
"Mom I love Dallas but he isn't worth my time. I think I'm gonna give me and Steve a shot and then if that doesn't work out. I'll maybe give Dallas another chance."
"That's my girl, I love you Icy stay gold. An remember if you need me just whistle."
"Okay. I love you too."
"Goodbye for now Kayla."
"Bye." I can't believe what just happened I saw my mom and she knew everything oh my God. I have to talk to Steve I have to right now. I'll probably find him at the Curtis house because him and Soda just got off work. I got up and ran to the Curtis house as fast as I could. I ran up the stairs and through the front door.
"I need to talk to Steve."
"Yeah, I need to talk to you too. Could everyone go outside or something I think we need to talk alone." Pony and Soda went to their room while Darry went outside. I went and I sat next to Steve on the couch.
"What's up?"
"Listen Kayla, when I caught you in my arms today it felt like time had stopped. It was like we were the only two people in the world. I don't know what you told Jessica but Soda and me were talking and he says it means your the one. It feels like you could be the one and I don't know how you feel but I feel like I am in lo-" I cut him off my crashing my lips into his. He didn't kiss back at first but then he slowly started kissing me back. After a while he pulled away from the kiss.
"What just happened?" He asked.
"I think I love you Steve. I know it's weird and all because this just happened today but it feels that way."
"I love you too." Then just as he was about to kiss me Dallas walked in.
"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS KAYLA?"
"UHMM I'M ABOUT TO KISS SOMEONE. WHAT'S IT MATTER TO YOU JACKASS."
"YOUR MINE."
"NO I'M STEVE RANDLE'S GIRL, LAST TIME I CHECKED YOU CHEATED ON ME WITH SOME SLUT."
"YOUR A SLUT." Then Steve pushed me off of his lap and lounged towards Dallas, he slammed him into the wall and punched him in the jaw repeatedly. Then he threw him to the ground and pinned his arms down with his knees and continued to punch him in the face. I heard Soda come in to see what's going on, Darry and Soda were dragging Steve off of Dallas. Pony and Jessica just stood there awkwardly beside me. I was about to say something to Dallas when he left slamming the door behind him. Then Steve walked over to me. It was at that moment I knew he was a keeper but could I actually keep him around.
"Listen you are not a slut okay, your not even close to being a slut."
"I know. Thanks though but I could have handled him myself."
"I know I'm sorry I guess I just got protective."
"I might like that then." I smiled and kissed his cheek. "What are we going to do about this?"
"I don't know it's up yo you."
"I want to be with you but I don't know how I'm going to deal with you."
"Yeah cause you can't handle the Randle."
"Oh I can handle the Randle."
"Then let's double date tonight, there's a drag race. We can go with Soda and Jessica."
"Okay." The Steve took his hand in mine and we headed out the door followed by Soda and Jess. I thought about how things turn out. I never thought I would be holding the hand of Steve Randle, or even liking him for that matter. I always thought of him as a cocky smartass with teeth that give children nightmares. I never thought I'd look into his eyes for a split second and fall in love with him immediately. I always thought I'd hate him and only put up with him because of him being Soda's best friend. I guess all that's changed now because I'm dating Steve Randle now. I never knew that I'd have feelings for him like this. I guess you never know your true feelings until they happen.
I have fallen in love with the one and only Steve Randle.
