I walked into the Curtis house with Steve, Soda and Jessica. I'm not looking forward to telling them but I think it's best if they know. I sat down on the couch next to Steve who held me in his arms. I love being in his arms. I hope that him and I stay together and never break up. I want him to be my one and only. I love Steve with all my heart and I can't imagine my life without him.
I never thought I'd say that but I am and I never want to be away from him.
I wonder if he would move in with me at Buck's. I know Buck won't care he doesn't care what I do as long as I finish school. I don't have school until September though and it's only June so I won't start that until the fall.
I love how Steve is so protective of me, he makes me feel safe and loved.
I don't want to tell the gang but it was time Darry had just got home, then the rest of the gang walked in even Dallas but he already knew. I took a deep breath before speaking.
"Guys we need to talk about something."
"Okay what's up?" Two-Bit asked. Then everyone nodded agreeing with him.
"Well it's bad news guys and I didn't want to tell y'all cause I know all of you are going to go apeshit, but I think y'all have the right to know.
I got a phone call yesterday mornin' and the person was a man, he said you think your a hot shot don't you.
I know you killed Micheal and your running free. I will find you but looks like a already did."
"Oh my God I'll kill that son if a bitch if he comes anywhere near you."
Two-Bit said.
"I ain't gonna let nothing touch you if I'm there Kayla." Darry added.
"Kayla take a walk with me now." Dallas demanded.
I looked over at Steve and he kissed me goodbye.
"Love you." He said as I walked out.
"Love you too." Then I caught up with Dallas. I have no idea what the hell he wants but it can be either good or bad.
"You make me sick Kayla."
"What did I do?"
"I love you and your with Steve, your all over him right in front if me."
"Okay and you cheated on me with some slut in my house."
"I live there too. I was there before you."
"If I want you gone you'll be gone."
"Nah Buck won't kick me out."
"Oh really? You wanna bet? I can have you gone so quick it'll make your head spin."
"Why can't you just accept the fact that the world doesn't revolve around you?"
"I have, why don't you take your own damn advice and accept that?"
"I did. Why don't you just shut the hell up Kayla?"
"Why don't you mind your own damn business and your own damn relationship and stay the hell out of mine."
"Alright fine I will, but when you get in trouble don't expect me to save you because I won't." Then he stormed off before I could say anything probably to go knock a store or something to get arrested but that isn't my problem. I headed back to the Curtis house and when I got there everyone had worried looks on there face.
"What was that about?" Darry asked.
"Oh just the usual him being an arrogant asshole. It's nothing new, he'll be in jail before the nights over with."
"How do you know that?" Johnny asked.
"Oh I just know trust me." An as if on cue the phone rang Darry answered it since he was closet. It was a very short call, short and didn't sound sweet.
"Kayla you were right on target Dallas is in jail."
"Yeah I told you so. What's he got six months?"
"Yeah. Maybe he'll learn his lesson."
"I doubt it Dallas Winston will never learn his lesson."
"True. Now Kayla let's focus on what's going on with you. I don't want anything happening to you. I don't want you going anywhere by yourself. An you better keep a blade on you at all times and a gun wouldn't hurt I'm sure Buck would agree. I want you to be as safe as possible ya' hear."
"Yes Darry I hear ya' Buck already told me I can't go anywhere alone and I don't plan on it. I was gonna ask Steve if he would move in with me cause Buck won't care, an I'd feel safer if I had him with me."
"Yeah I'll move in with ya' hell my old man don't want me living there no way. Can we go get my stuff now?"
"Sure." I got up and started walking out when Jess got up and ran to me and hugged me.
"Be careful, I can't loose you cause your my best friend."
"You won't loose me. I'll pick you up at 7:00 tomorrow morning from your house."
"Okay." I walked out of the door and tossed Steve my keys.
"You can drive her but be careful."
"I will Kayla." Then Steve opened my door for me and then closed it and walked to the drivers side. Then the engine roared to life.
"This car sounds great."
"I know."
"You'll look like a soc drivin' this."
"Yeah I sure will."
"I love it." I nodded and Steve drove with one hand and held mine with the other. I'm so glad I have him, it took about five minutes to drive from the Curtis house to his house. When we arrived at his house we got out his parents weren't home so we went inside and got his things and put them into a suitcase then headed out.
I let Steve drive back to Buck's because I mainly don't like driving, I'd rather let someone else drive. When we got there Steve got his suitcase from the backseat, then he opened my door for me and we headed inside. I could hear the loud music from outside the bar.
I hate living in a bar sometimes but its all I have. I walked upstairs with Steve and he put his things away in the drawers I had assigned to him.
Then he came and laid down next to me. I could barely hear the music downstairs which is a good thing.
I laid my head on Steve's chest and he held me in his arms. I fell asleep soon after, this is just one of many nights to come. I hope this gold can stay but like my momma told me nothing gold can stay.
