Lance found the black lion.

He frowned.

Pidge had explained that Keith and Krolia had entered the asteroid and told her to wait but then there had been nothing else.

"I would have gone in but I don't know what I'm facing." Pidge admitted.

Lance frowned. He landed the red lion and snatched up his helmet. "I'll go scope it out."

"Lance-"

"I won't get caught, if I can't reach you then there's probably a scrambler. I'll find it and shut it down." Lance assured. "Just trust me."

"I do trust you." Pidge huffed. "If you don't come out in two Vargas then I'm coming in. Deal?"

"Deal."

"Good, now go."

Lance got about halfway through the first tunnel when his helmet went to static. It crackled and told Lance that he had lost Pidge.

He lifted his Bayard and started scanning the tunnel.

He needed to-

Lance pulled the trigger.

A single blast hit something in the darkness and then the coms were humming again.

"Pidge?"

"Lance?"

"Hey." He smiled. "I got one."

"Good, I've sent one of my drones, I'll map the place out while you find Krolia and Keith." Pidge informed.

"Since when did you have drones?" Lance frowned.

"After Rover got blown up."

"Yet you put me down tunnels when they could just do it?"

"They don't have hands Lance."

He chuckled. "Fair enough."

"And you volunteered." Pidge reminded. "Are you doing okay?"

"Yeah, yeah." Lance nodded to himself. "I mean it's a bit too dark in here for me to really see so... I'm okay?"

"The moment you're not I'm coming to get you."

"Roger that." Lance nodded. It was nice knowing that the others understood his fears and didn't put a limit on him.

He didn't think he would ever have this.

This family.

These friends.

He was getting sentimental on a mission again, he needed to stop that.

There was a soft humming sound, it came from one of Pidge's drones, it hovered by him.

"Sup." He grinned.

"What does that even mean?"

A growling sound made Lance hesitate.

"Pidge? Can you see anything?" Lance asked, lifting his blaster.

"Not really." She admitted.

There was a flash of blue. Lance flinched, he recognised the movement.

"It's Keith's wolf, what did he call it again?"

"Kosmo."

"Right." Lance nodded. "Kosmo?"

The wolf appeared before them, it pounced at Lance and then they were both teleporting.

Lance collapsed into a large cave area. There was a small fire glowing at the centre.

Kosmo was nowhere to be seen.
