It was another normal day and Bonnie was just sitting in her living room and reading a book when she got a call from Shane. She answered it and his tone sounded panicked as he talked frantically. "Bonnie, Is this you? I'm so so sorry. It all just happened so fast, I didn't see them coming-" Shane was speaking 100 words an hour. "Woah, Woah, Take a breath. What happened?" Bonnie asked as Shane took a deep breath.

"Rick was shot. We got into a tight situation and then this guy caught us by surprise. . . It's just a mess, Can you come over?" He explained. Bonnie was silent for a little bit. Her only brother was shot. She was devasted but had to keep it together. Shane gave her the name of the hospital and Bonnie immediately made her way to the hospital.

There she found Lori and Carl looking down at Rick with tear-filled eyes and Shane standing at the doorway. "I came as fast as I could, How is he?" Bonnie asked as she stepped into the room and the sight saddened her. Rick being hooked up to all these tubes and machines. "They got the bullet out, but they said that he was gonna be in a coma. It could be days, weeks, even months. . .I'm sorry, Bonnie." Shane said as he looked down.

Bonnie looked down at Rick, feeling sorry. She noticed the look in Shane's eyes. "Shane, Can I talk to you for a little bit?" Bonnie said as she walked out into the hallway with Shane following behind. "Shane, What's wrong?" Bonnie asked as she put her hands on her hips. "I'm so sorry, Bonnie. . . It should've been me." Shane said as tears started to well up in his eyes. Bonnie brought him into a tight embrace as he sobbed into her shoulder.

"It's not your fault. You hear me? You didn't see the guy and nothing could have prepared us for this. You didn't do anything wrong." Bonnie whispered as Shane's nerves calmed down a bit. He just felt guilty that it was his friend and not him. He felt that there could have been more done to prevent this, but Bonnie was right. There could have been nothing that could have prepared them for this moment. They stayed in the embrace for a little bit before going back into the room.

They all stayed in Rick's room, hoping that there could be any sign of him waking up sooner than expected, but there was nothing. Rick just laid there with his skin pale and his body limp. It was a sad sight for all of them to see, but they had to stay strong for Rick.
