Undying Love (Shane Walsh x OC)

Chapter 10

     It had been 3 days since Rick's return and everybody was happy. Lori was much better now that Rick was back and it almost returned to being the same, but of course, it all couldn't return to being normal again, seeing that undead people were literally roaming around in the city. Bonnie was happy that Rick was back and her 30th birthday was finally here.

     Bonnie had woken up in her tent with Shane smiling softly down at him. "Morning," Bonnie said in a tired voice as she sat up and stretched. "You know what today is?" Shane asked as Bonnie turned to him. "The day I finally 30," Bonnie replied. "Yes and remember what we said 18 years ago?" Shane asked. "I do not recall," Bonnie said as Shane frowned. Bonnie laughed and playfully pushed his shoulder.

     "I'm just pullin' your leg," Bonnie said as Shane smiled again. Shane went into his pocket and pulled out a little red velvet box. Bonnie smiled as she looked down at it and back Shane. Shane opened the box and it was a beautiful ring. He took out the ring and placed it around her finger. "Bon, Ever since we were kids, I have had these feelings that I found someone that I could spend the rest of my life with. Someone that I could start a family with and grow old with. I never thought I could have that until I found you." He said as he held his hand.

     Bonnie smiled as they leaned in and kissed. For a moment, It felt like time had slowed down and it was just them. They pulled away and just smiled at each other for a moment before getting up and getting ready for the day.

Time Skip

     Bonnie was out with Carol, Andrea, Amy, and Jacqui. They were just doing laundry while Carol's husband, Ed, Watched while smoking his cigarette. Ed was complaining about how they washed the clothes and they were annoyed by it. Andrea got up and slowly approached him. "Tell you what Ed, You don't like how we wash your clothes, you can do it yourself," Andrea said as she threw the shirt she was washing at Ed.

     Ed threw it back in her face. "Not my job, missy," He said. Andrea was both frustrated and annoyed with Ed. "What is your job, Ed?" She asked sarcastically. "Sitting on your ass, smoking cigarettes all day," She said as Ed scoffed. Amy stood next to Andrea as she tried to get her away from Ed. Ed retorted back at her as he turned his attention to Carol. "C'mon, Let's go," He said "She doesn't have to go anywhere," Bonnie said as Andrea stood in front of Carol.

     "And I say you mind your business," Ed said as he gestured for Carol to come to him. Carol made her way to Ed as Andrea tried to stop her. Carol shook her off as she quietly pleaded for her to stop and just let her go to Ed. "Ey, Don't think I won't knock you on your ass just because you're some college-educated coos," He said as Carol approached him. He turned to Carol. "You gonna come on now or you gonna regret it later," He said as Carol stood next to him with her head down.

     "So she can show up later with fresh bruises," Jacqui said as they looked at her. "We've seen the bruises, Ed," She said as she glared at him.

Shane's POV

     I was just walking by when I saw Ed with some others while they washed the clothes in the lake. I was listening in as Ed spoke to them. "Now I am done talking to y'all," He said as he took Carol's arm and started to drag her with him. I watched on as Bonnie and Andrea tried to get Carol to stay. The look on her face was one of fear and sadness. I was watching and zoning out for a bit until I heard Ed scream at Carol.

     "You don't tell me what?! I tell you what!" He said before he whacked her on the side of her face. I saw red in an instant and marched over there. Andrea and Bonnie were consoling Carol as I grabbed him by the collar of his shirt. "Get off me!" He yelled as I dragged him a few feet away and threw him on the ground. I started to beat on him as I heard the others scream for me to stop. I beat him half to death and his face was battered and bloodied.

Bonnie's POV

     I watched as Shane beat on Ed until he stopped grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and pulled him up. "You put your hands on your wife, your little girl, or anybody else in this camp one more time, I will not stop, do you hear me?" He said as he held his face. Ed was groaning and moaning in pain. "I'll beat to death Ed," He said as he dropped Ed. He looked at us and we made eye contact.

     I felt like Ed had gotten what he deserved, it was like a taste of his own medicine getting beaten down like that. Shane looked at us before walking away. I watched him leave and looked back at Carol and saw her crawling over to Ed and consoling him and repeating over and over: "I'm sorry, Ed." Like it was her fault, I shook my head and walked away to finish up with the clothes.
