For the next couple days, you and Rae are completely silent online. You don't stream or post or do anything. A few fans notice you come online on discord once or twice, notably tweeting it and acknowledging that you were hiding away and not saying anything. And they did so in less than favorable ways, calling you as many buzz words as they could think up.

It didn't help that Brooke was given so much support, and the creators named and others you'd slept with had stayed silent. Nobody else came out about anything, nobody. And their silence was taken as admission and, without any evidence of the contrary, Brooke was given all support.

You constantly received messages upon messages, full of hate and threats. They threatened you and your wife, and it took everything in you not to respond and give them a piece of your mind. But you kept silent, and kept planning as to what you could possibly come up with... something, anything to fix things.

But everything had gone to shit, and the 100Thieves execs were meeting about this exact situation in only a few hours. They needed to discuss the controversies effect on the company, and whether Rae was to keep such a public position as a leader. How the hell had everything gone from being perfect to being hell so quickly.

You found yourself so close to tears, tired of never having good things happen to you, or for them to fade so quickly into awful circumstances. You never could keep that high, unless you were drinking. And good never seemed to stay...

You get a message on your phone, a text from someone. You're reluctant to check it, but you do so with much surprise.

Matt messaged, saying "Hope you're alright man. I know things are gonna get rocky, but just know that I'm on your side no matter what. I don't know what you did, but I know who you are and that's not you. Stay safe, man"

You appreciate the gesture, and reply back with a much shorter message giving your thanks and appreciation for everything he'd done for you in the past.

It's a nice gesture, one that helps to push you out of your terrible headspace and you start to be productive again. You start thinking of ways to fix this.

You draft up a statement, but nothing seems to be good enough. How are you supposed to respond? If you're truthful, then you expose too much of what should stay private and risk humiliating Rae for her consent in all of this. If you defy and attack Brooke, you're just asking to be treated poorly. But if you accept fault, and if you acknowledge that you were wrong, it wouldn't be genuine. But maybe that's just what you needed to do to move on?

You're so conflicted, so unaware of what you could possibly do to fix things. You try your best to stay positive, to keep your head straight and continue to think, but it's all futile. In the end, the internet had made up its mind and you were the villain. You were the asshole that used and strung everyone along and was unfaithful. Little did they know the truth, or little did they care. This narrative was being pushed and it wasn't stopping soon.

And while all seemed hopeless, and you believe such a feeling couldn't worsen, you were proven wrong yet again. A moment you had been dreading since you were a kid, the worst fear of any young boy was coming true...

You received a call from Selena.

"Hello...? What's up?" You ask.

"Y/n? You need to come home... your mom, she's not getting any better... I-I..."

"What are you saying...?" You ask, your tune having changed.

"I'm not sure she has a whole lot of time left..."

"Oh..." is all you can muster.

"The doctors were optimistic, but she's been on a heavy decline the past few days and they're scared that she's falling apart. You need to come home and now... or you won't be able to say goodbye..."
