Harry creeps out of Loui's room early morning on December 24th, it was Christmas Eve, but more importantly it was Louis birthday. He had slid out of bed as quietly as possible, leaving Louis sound asleep snores escaping the older lad. Harry resist the urge to place a kiss on Louis sleeping face, not wanting to risk waking him up.
As he shuts the door to the room, he makes his way down the hallway to Cassie's bedroom to wake up the young girl who had requested to be apart of all of Louis's birthday planning. He kneels down next to her bed, the dark blonde hair peeking out of the blanket in a tangled mop. "Hey munchkin, wakey wakey." Harry whispers placing soothing rubs up and down her back.
"Papa sweeeepppyy." She whines hiding her face further into the pillow. Harry smiles, seeing so much of her father in her, Louis doing the same move anytime that Harry had to wake the boy up. "Okay I guess I will have to make Daddy's birthday breakfast by myself." Harry sighs playing up the dramatics for the little girl.
It works like a charm and Cassie is shooting up in her bed looking over at Harry with a gasp. "No Papa! I hewp I hewp!" She makes grabby hands at Harry, wanting the curly haired lad to pick her up. "Upsies pwease!" Cassie says.
Harry chuckles and leans down to pick Cassie up, walking her towards her closest to pick out her clothes for the day. "Okay munchkin, lets get you changed into some clothes for the day, then we can head downstairs after you brush your teeth." Harry says.
"Otay Papa! Me want to dwess pwetty for Dadee!" Cassie grins, Harry smiles back at her picking out a comfy, yet nice jumper and a pair of leggings for her wanting her to be comfy during their plans for the day. Harry helps her change into her clothes before taking her to the bathroom to brush her teeth.
"So what do you want to make Dadee for breakfast?" Harry asks as they enter the kitchen Cassie on his hip. "Pancakes! Papa you make yummy pancakes!" Cassie grins rubbing her belly. Harry chuckles and nods his head. "Pancakes it is."
Harry sets Cassie down on her step stool so she can reach the counter while he heads to the pantry to grab their matching Christmas themed aprons. Harry had made sure to get all three of them matching aprons the day after he and Louis had talked about spending Christmas together, he found them in one of the local shops, the shop owner was able to create any design for them people wanted. Harry opted for a 3 red buffalo check aprons, Cassie's saying
"Chef Training" in white ironed on vinyl, Harry's says "Head Chef" and Louis "Sous Chef."Harry slides his apron on fastening it before he moves to help Cassie put hers on. "Ready to start baby girl?" Harry asks once they both wash their hands. "Me ready Papa!" Cassie nods eagerly. Harry smiles widely at her moving the bowl in front of her ready to guide her through the steps.
Harry has heart has never felt so full as it had over the hour it took him Cassie and him to make breakfast. The small girl giggling the entire time as Harry told her joke after joke. As he taught her how to crack an egg, he made sure to tell his best egg jokes throughout the process. Telling her she did an "eggsellent job" when they were all cracked into a small separate bowl with only one shell falling in. He scooped it out with out her seeing as he poured it into the mixture of dry ingredients.
While he deals with cooking the pancakes, he has her washing the fruit, not quite comfortable with the idea of her dealing with a hot stove quite yet. She washes strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries sneaking a couple of the blackberries as she places them into a bowl.
Once everything is prepared Harry loads it all onto a tray with a mug of tea for him and Louis, and a glass of orange juice for Cassie. They make their way upstairs Cassie racing a head of Harry so she can stop in her room to grab a drawing that she had made for Louis the night before.
