It had been hours since they had checked in the hotel that it was time to get up and start a new day.
THE BUNKETTE ROYALE, in Washington DC was their home for the next one week. It was a lavish hotel located in the outskirts of the beautiful city with a gorgeous panoramic view to add to its beauty. The morning was at its peak, a peculiar hustle bustle had already started up in the hotel...........
The room service guy was constantly ringing the door bell of their room but to no avail, the door was not even budging by an inch. Finally call it lucky coincidence or mere mercy of time that Mira woke up, heard the door bell and quickly hurried to open up. It was the complimentary breakfast that was waiting behind the door.
She quickly got ready, dragged on a brand new pair of shorts and a cool peplum top, in the meanwhile, Rina too headed for a shower. With an urge to satiate her hungry tummy, she began checking out the breakfast. There were hot fruit pancakes, French toasts, vegetable sandwiches and fresh orange juice for breakfast. She was about to take the first bite.....
"Good Morning Miru, the sleep seemed short yesterday but still I've made an effort to look as fresh as possible. What do you say..???" she asked inquisitively pointing towards her dress.
"My God, you simply look stunning."Mira exclaimed in awe.
She had put on a strapless top with a beautiful box pleated skirt with her hair tied up in a high ponytail. With the amount of effort that she had put in to get ready, one could easily make out that she was going out with Sameer. Therefore, without saying much Mira simply said,
"You are giving me company for breakfast or its me in here alone???"
Rina apologetically said, "Sorry Miru, brunch date planned today..!! I'll be with him for the morning and come back after lunch.......Have a great day..!!" Saying this she hurriedly took out her purse, put on her stilettos and left the room.
Beginning of a new day in a new town was not that great for Mira, but she did not give up easily. She was determined to explore new lands in the town and of course was keen to have a great time all by herself..... How<<<< still remained unanswered.
As planned, she took a cab from the hotel lobby and headed to her first destination the famous Freer Art Gallery. Since her days in junior college she had a passion for some real good art. Keeping up with this she had chosen to start the day with the gallery first!
There was not much of a crowd at the main entrance to the gallery. A majority of visitors were tourists and hardly a few localites could be seen. Some were even artists who had come up to admire a few pieces and may be draw inspiration from the others.
Art pieces from all parts of the world had their own special position in each and every corner of the gallery, be it Asia, Africa, Europe or ancient Egypt! Each piece in itself was mesmerizing, the strokes of the brush, the kind of color used all in itself had its own implication. It was a perfect place for Art lovers to seek solace from the busy world............
Mira came across a beautiful Asian painting, and couldn't help falling for it. It was a perfect depiction of all the relationships that a person has with people and with nature throughout his lifetime. Relationship of a new born with a mother, a teen with a father ,a son/daughter with a family, a person with a friend, a student with a teacher, a professional with a colleague and mostly a human with Nature or more precisely the Almighty! Somewhere the real gist behind the fine piece, or more to say the emotion with which the artist himself might have put it on the canvas, connected straight with her heart or with herself may be,
