Alone Or Lonely?

A NEW REVELATION

On reaching the hotel, Mira immediately rushed to her room to give Kabir a call and ask him up about tomorrow. She was little nervous about what his reply would be but at the same time equally hopeful that it might be a Yes!
" We might leave tomorrow and before that my friends have planned to get the four of us together on a table, so...
You think you could make it?" she asked eagerly.

" I'll make it anyhow, only if you want me to." he said in a diligent tone.

She was almost melted by that one, in just the way that a cold hard stack of butter melts when thrown on a sizzling hot pan.

" Yeah of course even I too want you to be there" she said in a hesitant manner trying her best to conceal the awkward tension that had by then developed in her mind.

" If it's you saying this then, you surely have me there tomorrow." he said.

She was already on cloud nine.

" I'll be eagerly waiting in anticipation of your arrival and not just tomorrow Kabir, in fact I would love to stay in touch with you even after I reach home, that is only if you don't mind."
She finished in one go, heaving a huge sigh and waited patiently for his reply from the other end.

There was no reply. The other end was blank seemed as though he had chucked the handset quite a long time before.

The level of eagerness and excitement that was beaming from her veins a few minutes ago, now seemed as though a lot of it had oozed out in a matter of seconds. A sudden jerk and she directly crash landed on cloud six or seven from nine!
But still she had a tomorrow waiting with open arms so she felt it best to remain as composed as possible.

The night was a long one. Mira felt sleepless. She had already started fantasizing about the big day and so the wait seemed more and more unbearable.

Finally the sun showed up. The sky was clear, a pleasant and beautiful morning indeed. The day though beautiful in its appeal did bring in some heavy hearted memories and a very sharp realization of the fact that it was their last day in this paradise. With a heavy heart, Mira woke up, took a shower and headed towards Sammy's room. Rina had by then got ready and stationed herself already in his room.
" Hey guys, all set? " she asked enthusiastically.
" Yep, its all set in here. Let's go and as per plan we have a double date today girls, so gear up quick" said Sam on a cheerful note.
The girls dressed up in their best of casuals and each of them donning a million dollar smile on their face took to the lead while Sam followed their trail.
They reached their desired destination. It was a beautiful lake side. The morning breeze, the cool water currents and the sweet chirping of the near by migrated friends all made up for a wonderful sight for the eyes and the soul. They had planned to go for a pleasant boat ride by the lake side and then a wholesome brunch in a near by cafe.
Rina and Sameer hand in hand went ahead and made the bookings for a four seat boat. They seated themselves on a large bench in a secluded corner of the arena and Mira on the other hand waited patiently for Kabir to arrive.

As time passed by, crowd for boating activity increased. Rina and Sam seemed engrossed in their own world. But Mira became restless with each passing second. She made frantic calls to Kabir but all of them went unanswered.
Angered and frustrated she went off towards Ri and Sam with stomping feet and said
" Excuse me guys, come out of your dreamland. Take a reality check, he's not here yet. I've been trying to call him but he's not even answering my calls." she said in between her heavy breaths.

" Relax Miru, I guess he's ditched us again" said Ri casually.

" Shut up, okay! He's not that kind of a guy. And if he had to ditch, he might have at least informed like he did the previous time, remember!" said Mira in a defensive tone.

" Just take a chill pill girls! Please don't start off here. Miru, you have his address, let's go and check on him." said Sammy in a dilating tone.
Agreeing unanimously onto his suggestion, the threesome headed towards his hotel.

" Aha! Seems like a rich guy, Miru! I mean it really is a lavish hotel indeed." said Rina enviously.

" Thank you, for that update baby but please could we just focus on the task at hand?" he said in a grilled manner with an uneasy tone.

" Ummm...yeah sure sweetheart! I am sorry I just got a tad bit carried away." she said apologetically.
Mira however was fully focused on searching the whereabouts of Kabir and so she hardly got involved in these juvenile acts!

At the reception, Sameer  made an enquiry.

" Is Mr. Kabir Malik in his room? We are his friends and have come up to meet him. So could we just go and check in?"he asked politely.

" Sure Sir! Just wait for a moment. I'll check the records and let you know. "

" Sure"

The receptionist after searching all the records almost twice just to be double sure, returned and said

" Sorry sir, I guess there has been a misunderstanding. We do not have any guest by that name.
