Alone Or Lonely?

THE DEPARTURE

" Where have you been? Can u imagine what they might be thinking about you?About me?" she exclaimed breathlessly.

" They! I don't care about them. The one whom I really care about is you." he said calmly caressing the soft tufts of hair that overshadowed her forehead.

" Then why did you not come when I called you?"she said pulling his arms and tugging him close.
Tears rolled down her cheeks and her breathing rate became subtle. The anguish, the pain and the frustration that had since long been nurtured in her mind had finally found its way out. He slipped down his arms around her waist and tightly wrapped her shivering body round him.
She calmed down.

" I had work."

" Work! What work? You knew you had to be with us right?" she said being a bit aggressive again.

" Cool down! Don't overreact. It was something urgent."

" Urgent! If it was so urgent, you could have pre informed me.
Why don't you understand Kabir, I become paranoid when I don't find you around. I can't imagine myself without you. I know I have realised this a bit too late but now that I have, I feel incomplete without you. What else do you want me to say now? Isn't this much sufficient for you to understand how madly I need you?
I love you! I really love you Kabir."
Saying this she heaved a sigh of relief as she finally had made the confession that she so longingly had been prepping herself for. Now she eagerly waited for his reply.
Previously a nervous and slightly fragile girl and now shedding away this persona she had emerged being an altogether new person. She had officially become the first girl of her clan to officially propose to a guy!

I bet if this was something to boast off but this surely was now something on which the other something of her life depended.

Her mind had already started working upon the possibility of his answer being a yes and his chances of saying a no. Just when it was about to come to a conclusion and broadcast the result, he blurted out
" No Mira! Don't put me into this. We can't have anything together." he said.
Mira was aghast, this one in particular was an unexpected blow. She dropped to the floor, swiftly slipping from his tight embrace and started weeping. She could feel somebody's arms cling on to her shoulders and give her a firm jerk. She was a bit relieved and ensured thinking that it could be him with a change of answer but then opened her eyes to see Rina.

" Oh my gosh! Ri it's you. What happened to me? How did you get me here?" she asked gazing around and reassuring the fact that she was laying on her bed in the hotel room.
Rina looked a bit worried and it also seemed that she had a slight tear which was on its verge of rolling down her rosy cheeks.

" Miru, it's actually me whose supposed to be asking you this. What has happened to you sweetheart? You passed out in the café, me and Sammy got you here somehow and since then you have been talking, rather screaming in sleep and just now do you realise you were even weeping!" she exclaimed.

Mira couldn't say much and hence simply nodded in agreement. Rina took her hand into her own and gently squeezed it.
" I am sorry, Miru! I know I have been a bit rude to you before but please understand it's just because I care. I just do not want you to drift away onto the path that will lead you nowhere."

The words that came from one heart with the intention of consoling the other heart seemed like to have lost their path in between for the other heart still remained soaked in its grief. It was late, the heart in question had stopped accepting entry of any foreign substance from others like it, within its circumference.

Before Mira could say anything Rina continued
" Don't worry about your packing it's already been taken care of. Would you like to have something? Are you hungry?"

Mira was no more interested in food.
" Okay, just have this lime water then, you'll feel at ease." Saying this she left her in the room and rushed downstairs to join Sameer for lunch.

By late afternoon, she became more and more restless and began insisting to go ahead and make a hunt for him. Rina strictly prohibited her to even move from her room to which she had to oblige by the end. In the mean time, seeing Mira's worsening situation and her nostalgia Rina had called in Sameer to go ahead and finish with the investigation bit! After a short while he had returned but to no avail. He had not been successful in tracking down information about the guy, which again posed the same question where did he vanish?

" Mira we tried to track him dear, but he's nowhere to be found. Sammy checked onto all the previous places where you both have mostly been but the folks there do not even seem to recognise him even coming there once!" she said patiently.
Ri knew that telling Mira everything was in itself a big gamble as she was not sure how Mira will be able to digest all of this and react to it, but nevertheless she didn't mind giving it a shot because it was the only choice she had.

" Shut up! Just shut up. How is that possible? You are definitely lying. " Mira screamed.

" Why would I Mira? Why would we lie? We care about you sweetheart." she argued.

" I don't know that. But let me make it very clear to you people I am not leaving without him. You people can do whatever you want but I have made my choice." she said adamantly literally screeching at the loudest possible pitch she could.

" Stop it! Just stop your madness Mira. It's enough. We have literally had enough. It's high time, you better ask yourself this
Does He Really Exist?"saying this she angrily turned away to face the other side.
Just in a split second, she could hear a heavy thud onto the floor. She immediately turned around and saw Mira's unconscious body fallen on the floor, limping in blood that spread across almost onto their entire carpet area!

A/n: Where was this heading to? Was this the end or the foundation to a new beginning?
