Alone Or Lonely?

MANY ANSWERS TO BE FOUND OUT

It was testing time for Mira's patience. She had been trying to call Kabir since the last ten minutes and there was simply no answer from the other end. Many things started to invade her mind all of a sudden. She somehow desperately wanted to reach out to him, for answers, many answers.

Why did he let her go?

Was he trying to hide something?
What was wrong?

All things just clogged up her mind. She began feeling suffocated. A sort of hyperactivity, breaking threshold could be sensed within her.
Suddenly, almost like a breath of fresh air, it struck her mind that he might be busy in his client meeting and so might not be picking up. She tried to calm herself down, thinking that she might give him a call after sometime. But one thing was sure, Kabir's nostalgia was seeming to affect her.

Rina had been sitting in Sameer's bedroom. Mira's harsh words had shaken her completely. Sameer was trying his level best to calm her down. Hearing the entire incident even Sameer grew suspicious of this guy Kabir. The main reason for suspicion was not the same as Rina's but the most intriguing fact that arouse suspicion was that how come in just two days Kabir became so important that Mira spoke such rude n harsh words to Rina who has been with her since quite a long!!

The mood of the two girls had been so bad since the morning episode that neither Mira stepped out of her room to move about the city nor even Sameer asked Rina to come along with him.

Mira had her afternoon lunch alone in their room while Rina unwillingly had her's (On Sameer's insistence of course!) with Sameer in his room. It was high time and by evening even Sameer realized that the two girls had to be patched up soon for the betterment of all on this vacation!!

It was sensible of Sameer to play the bridging gap between the two girls and end up their fight. By late evening, the two girls apologized and everything was surely back to normal.

"Miru, if this Kabir has become so important for you . I think we should meet him. That way we could also get to know him better" said Rina wittily.

"Yes Mira, now even I would want to see him. After all only a very special someone can make two besties like you fight over him unnecessarily" said Sameer enthusiastically.

"Oh c'mon! You two don't start it off again. But yeah now I also think you guys should meet him definitely.." said Mira blushingly.

"Why don't you do one thing, tomorrow I was planning to take Rina out for lunch to a plush restaurant here ,you two can drop in. It will be great fun. Besides we won't mind you guys joining us. What's say Rina??? !!" exclaimed Sameer pointing towards Rina with a witty wink.

"Yeah Miru! I mean why not? You, Kabir, Me n Sameer, it would be great fun indeed. Sounds like a cool idea! "said Rina

"But I will have to ask him before that he actually is here for business n not pleasure so I don't really know if he might agree..."

"O C'mon Miru!! Sweetheart I know you will convince him. I can easily count on you for that" said Rina reassuringly. "Besides it will be a change for him also. You talk to him and let us know, Sameer will make the arrangements."

"Yeah! leave that to me darling." said the lover boy.

The dinner that night was fruitful. Salad, soups, noodles, a few vegetable n rice dishes and a wholesome desert made up the day. The three of them had the meal together. They chatted for long and each of them sincerely showed up their share of excitement for the upcoming day.

Since evening Mira had been so hooked to all the proceedings that she almost forgot to give Kabir a call...

It was about to be nine at night. The city was already getting darker and the street lights were all set to lighten up the arena. Rina and Sameer had gone for stroll a few miles down the street while Mira chose to stay at the room.

She thought it was perfect time for her to make a call to Kabir. She herself was expecting Kabir to give his nod to their plans for the next day. It was not mainly because she could get another day with him but somewhere it was may be because it was the only way to put an end to the annoying questions that were brewing up in Rina and Sameer's minds regarding Kabir and his whereabouts. As somewhere in her mind she had this gut feeling that Rina and Sameer were still suspicious about Kabir and that bothered her.

So she thought it might be pretty enough for the two of them.

She hurriedly searched for her phone in the room. She dialed him up and with every ring on the phone her excitement level was also reaching the roof top.

She almost wished as though Kabir would say ....YES!

Her excitement was bubbling within her.

Again the phone was simply ringing at the other end and nobody was answering the call.

Mira didn't give up so soon she kept on calling and calling finally there was a reply from the other end.

" Yes, this is Kabir. May i know who is it on the other end??"

" It's me Mira! Sorry if I have disturbed you now, but there was this proposal. Umm no actually a sort of invitation from my friend's side, asking you to come over for lunch! The four of us including her boyfriend, might as well make up for a good company I guess, what's say? You in??" She questioned with utmost care so as to not fumble between words, which would clearly show up her over excitement ...

Several possibilities struck her mind in that moment, visualizing his most probable answers.
But then....

"No Mira, I won't be able to come. I have some important work to finish, so sorry dear but its just not possible"

"Okay, no problem I get that but just one more question, what exactly happened yesterday? Why did you not leave me up to my room?? What exactly happened??"

There was no response from the other side. The line went blank.

This sudden reaction evoked a lot of other questions
