FACING REALITY

" What!" screamed her parents in unison.

" Yes! Even the both of us were in shock when we realised that it was something like this. She kept yelling and arguing sounding heartbroken and we were under guilt because we couldn't do anything for her. And now I don't know what to say. The guilt, the concern that we had... it all seems like blown with the wind. But then actually it's not her fault either, as she doesn't even know what is happening with her. Poor Miru, she is practically living in a world which doesn't even exist.
O damn! Then whose fault is it?" she yelled almost punching with the fist on the wall.

Her aggression happened to go unnoticed by the people standing near to her, for they looked soaked in their own self imagined shallow pool of misery. They were completely clueless as to what exactly they should say or might as well were unable to gather the guts to ask or say a thing. It was a moment of self question for her parents who had by then roughly begun to analyse as to where they had actually gone wrong or where had the circumstances gone wrong.

" Schizo....fre...ia !" exclaimed her mother in a trembling tone.

Tears began to roll down Rina's eyes and her words were choked down her throat, she could just barely nod.

" No, this can't be true."

" I wish it wouldn't be true, but I am sorry uncle, you need to face the truth. When we hurried her to the hospital, she was barely conscious but then the doc checked her and the cat was out! We got a few tests done as per what he told us and at the end of it he proved himself and his diagnosis perfect. She had become impulsive. We didn't know what to do, and so we decided to drug her and get her here asap! We thought possibly if she left that place and came here, being with us, being among us she might forget him and get back to her own self! Even the doctor told us this, that it was necessary to kill this character completely from her mind, otherwise it could prove fatal for her." said Rina finally letting it all out.

A pleasant satisfactory feel could be seen glittering on the surface area of Rina's face. It was as if a heavy load was now off her chest. She had eventually managed to tell all of it to her parents but still there lay a big question in front of her!

How to make Mira understand all of this?

Her parents were still in shock. It was difficult for them to digest all these facts.

" Honey, our baby! Why, why did this happen?" cried her mom literally sobbing with her head inclined and resting onto her hubby's shoulder.

" And you know what is the saddest part, Aunty?"

" We can't possibly just go and tell her all of this. Even the docs can't predict how she would react. She might get into severe depression, she might get impulsive, she might try to harm anybody among us, or even worse..she might as well try to harm herself." said Rina with a heavy heart.

" I don't know honey, how do we fix this crisis. If anybody else gets to know of this, just imagine what kind of gossips we may give rise to and be a part of. Our reputation, our image in the society, my work everything will be simply tarnished within matter of a few seconds." said her dad looking almost ten times more worried than his wife.

" Fuck the people, okay! Just for once let's think about her first. We'll handle everybody but first we need to manage her. I bet we can just set her up with a rich and classy guy so that once they start dating she automatically will forget him. Besides I could even proudly tell about him at my kitties."said her mom sounding much relieved with her own idea.

" Well, it does sound like a plan." exclaimed her dad in glee.

Just when it felt like everything will be fixed, everything will be sorted out, a loud bang followed by constant yelling of a female voice could be heard from inside the ward. The three became immediately alert and ran inside just to take a quick scan of the situation.

Mira had regained consciousness and was sitting on her bed. She looked extremely angry, it looked as if this ferocious tigress would attack anybody in front of her, any minute from then. She had thrown away the tray of medicines that the nurses had got to dress her wound. Poor nurses ran away from the room to fetch for a doctor.

" Miru, my baby how are you? Are you feeling better now?" asked her mom.

"Why did you get me here ha? I heard the nurses say that I was drugged. It definitely must have been you Ri! Why did you do this to me?" she asked impatiently.

" Ummm...no sweetheart you are mistaken. None of it is true." said Rina trying to conceal things and sound as calm as possible.

" Why are you guys here?" exclaimed Mira suddenly realising that even her parents were around.

" How could we not be here? You scared us baby. You are our child, we had to be here." said her mom.

" Oh is it! By the way, thank you for clarifying because until date I used to feel may be you just picked me up from somewhere." Mira said vaguely.

" Shut up! Is this the way to talk to your parents especially in public?" screamed her dad.

" Oh cut the crap! I need to get going from here." she said swiftly moving the blanket off her body and getting off the bed.

" Surely Miru, even we have been wanting that but as of now unless and until your doctor approves your discharge orders, you are not moving anywhere." ordered her dad silently.

Soon along with some medicine prescription, permission from the doc was granted and Mira was taken home.
At home, the physical scenario was the same just with a twist of emotions. For a change, Mira had a topic to think about and on the other hand, her parents made her the topic to think about. They say change is supposedly the rule of nature but who knows what this change may bring for anybody. Sometimes it proves to be good, sometimes bad, sometimes it is gradual and sometimes drastic but whatever it is one needs to cope up with it no matter what it costs!
Somewhat similar was the situation in the Mathur household where change had literally led to the formation of two teams.
One with only one player which was Mira and the other team with two players, her parents. One team was busy resolving several self doubts while the other team was busy in conspiring and making plans to settle scores and make things straight. Though it was evident to the naked eye that there was no as such competition between the two teams but it surely remained to be seen whether the two teams were battling their own individual wars or was it that it was war among them.
