"What are you?" He asks me, breaking the silence. I am quite shocked by this question. Mostly because I don't even know how to answer it.
"Werewolf. I think... And you are a vampire," I state. He nods.
"You don't smell like a werewolf." He lifts his...
We walk back over the bridge and meet with Isobel and Alasdair who stand and wait.
"Did you learn anything?" Alasdair asks as we halt in front of them. Farlan shakes his head and crosses his arms.
"You?" he asks, and Alasdair shrugs.
"Nothing besides confused looks and a few folktales here and there. Not anything new," he replies and then claps his hands together loudly.
"Well! Let's get going then!" he burst out, but I just look at him slightly startled and confused.
"Were to?" I then ask as no one else seems to wonder the same.
"I was thinking a motel nearby. Maybe we'll learn something new when there's a bit more daylight," he answers and I nod in agreement.
We all return to the car as Farlan takes us to a nearby Bed and Breakfast. It looks small and cozy with stringlights embellishing the facade. I grab my bag with spare clothes from the trunk and then we enter. Dom does his usual mojo to the young woman standing behind the check-in desk, making her hand Dom three keys with a big smile. Dom hands one of them to Farlan, one to Alasdair, and the last one he tucks in his pocket with a wink directed at me.
"See you in the morning," I say to the others with a smile, to which Isobel responds by giving me a smile and my hand a small squeeze. I return the gesture before wrapping my arm around Dom's and proceeding to find our room.
"What's the number?" I ask Dom while looking at all the different doors with numbers on them. Dom responds by showing me his hand with four outstretched fingers. I quickly find the room and then stretch out my hand towards Dom, signalling for him to throw the key. He does and I catch it with ease before unlocking the door and swinging it open.
It's a small and cosy room with a muted green theme and several succulents decorating the window sills and shelves. I throw the bag with my clothes on the floor and then jump into the bed while letting out a long sigh. Dom locks the door behind him and observes me with a teasing look. I respond by raising my eyebrow in a cocky motion.
"Whatever you are thinking: no," I respond and adjust on the bed, so I can lie on my side while looking at him.
"What? I wasn't thinking about anything," he replies while lifting his hands in innocence, but the look in his eyes reveals another story.
"Mh'hm, as if," I respond and return to lie on my back, propping up the pillow behind my head.
"I think I might just sleep," I then say while closing my eyes and stretching my body. I feel the bed move as Dom places a knee next to me. Then the mattress sinks on either side of my body as he puts his hands there and rests his weight. My eyes remain closed, but I can't help but smile, a bit nervous that he might start to tickle me or something.
"Shouldn't I help you out of your clothes then?" he mumbles into my ear and I let out a small chuckle, thinking about how to tease him back.
"Sure, that would be nice," I reply in an innocent voice, as I put my arms over my head. I raise my upper body slightly, as Dom pulls my shirt over my head. Then I put my feet into the bed and lift my lower body, as he pulls off my pants. I then giggle before whipping the sheets over my body and tucking them tightly around me.
"Thank you!" I exclaim and brace as Dom laughs back and then starts poking and tickling me through the sheets. I squirm around underneath him and laugh while Dom tries to get revenge for me tricking him.
"You better not go to sleep now, we haven't even had dinner yet!" he protests, but I'm unable to answer with anything but laughter, as he continues to tickle my sides.
"You could at least help me with my clothes as well, now that I was so kind and sweet to assist you," he then teases and halts for a second allowing me to catch my breath.
I look at him panting and with a small tear in one eye from laughing so hard. His demeanour switches as he uses his thumb to wipe it away while giving me a tender look. I then sit up, wrapping one hand behind his neck and kissing him just as tenderly back. He proceeds to give me kisses from my mouth and down to my neck, before wrapping his arms around me and holding me in a hug for some time.
"I have been thinking," I start to say while relaxing against him as he traces small circles on my back.
"Mhm?" he replies, as I don't continue fast enough.
"Would you turn me?" I then say, making Dom abruptly stop doing the circles. He pulls away and grabs both sides of my face in his hands, as he looks deeply and intently into my eyes.
"Are you sure?" he asks back, and I nod slightly, as it's hard to do so with him holding my cheeks. He then gives me a long, deep and slow kiss, and for a second I forget what I even asked.
"I will," he then answers as he pulls back and I smile at him. I fear he might be putting too much meaning into my question. Judging by his reaction, it almost feels like I've asked him to marry me. I won't tell him, that I might as well could have asked one of the others in the group, however, since there's no need to ruin the moment and risk him changing his mind.
I am a bit afraid though, that he might start to think of us as more than what we are, or at least what I want us to be. Not that I'm even quite sure what that is. I just know that I don't want any type of serious commitment, simply because I don't have the time or energy to focus on someone else's feelings, hopes and dreams. I have plenty in my own plans as is.
I give him a slightly forced smile and pull back from his embrace, before getting up and pulling my clothes back on.
"Wanna go get some dinner?" I ask, before turning around and leaving the room, as Dom follows me out.
