We run along for a long time, me lying comfortably in Dom's big and strong arms. They make me feel warm and secure, and after a while, I can't help but get lulled to sleep by the rhythmic motions and Dom's heavy breathing. My head falls onto Dom's shoulder and I let the turmoil and hardships of the past couple of weeks fall into the background, as I allow myself a moment to just enjoy feeling secure and protected. I let my eyes fall shut, and soon I drift off to sleep.

I am awoken as soon as the lulling motions stop. Begrudgingly I open my eyes, just to meet Dom's looking down at me. He smiles and blows softly in my face to get away a stray hair, that had fallen down to cover my right eye. Suddenly I'm reminded by how Kai had carried me in this position after the violent assault commanded by my father. The soft and fuzzy feeling is quickly replaced by a cold knot and I break eye contact with Dom. I can't help but worry a bit, that he might betray me as well. Everything just seems too good to be true.

Dom notices the change in my mood, and instead of saying something witty, he just places me down on my feet. I rub my eyes and stretch, which feels amazing after so long curled up. I look up, shielding my eyes from the harsh rays of the sun with my hand, and try to guess at what time it might be. It still feels weird to be out in the open after all that time locked in a cell.

"We are here now - we have to walk like regular human beings the rest of the way," Dom says in an easy voice, and as I turn to look at him, I notice how he is also doing stretching motions, and as he stretches his arms over his head, a small sliver of the skin on his stomach is revealed, offering me a small glance at his muscular body. I feel myself blush, so I quickly turn around only to be distracted by an enormous building a bit off in the distance.

"Where is here?" I ask, not recognizing anything about this place. I hear Dom grunt in laughter behind me.

"The airport, silly. You must really have dozed off - happy to hear my body offers you such comfort," he says in a teasing voice, as he now stands beside me and pushes me jokingly with his shoulder. I look up at him, trying to give him an annoyed look, but as our eyes lock, I can't really keep my composure. His dark red eyes lure me in and almost hypnotize me in their depth. My thoughts are broken, as he suddenly takes out a pair of sunglasses and puts them on, while still holding my gaze.

"Come on, now. We don't wanna miss our flight," he says casually and starts walking off. The sun is slightly setting which cascades the light and makes it bounce off of his chiseled body, enhancing his jawline and broad shoulders. I feel myself blushing again, as the knot in my stomach now effectively has unknotted itself. I jog up to him to keep up and surprise myself with the sudden impulse to grab his hand, which I luckily stop myself from acting on.

I drag my hands down my face, not really understanding where my sudden attraction to Dom is coming from. On one hand, it doesn't really surprise me - I mean, you would be legally blind if you didn't think that he was hot. And apart from that he is funny and charismatic, and he seems to genuinely care about me. He is like the whole package. On the other hand, I can't help but think, that I barely know the guy, and he is a vampire, which I have always been taught to stay far away from. In relation to that, I fear he might be using his mind games on me, causing me to trust him more than I ought, or maybe even making me feel and do things that I don't truly wish for. Aside from that, he can be so full of himself, and he also put me in the most traumatic situation I have ever found myself in. Granted, he got me out of there as well, but he can't just erase the marks it left on me.

At that thought I look down at myself, and can't help but wring my nose in disgust. I have been wearing this stupid fucking dress that Dom got me, ever since they threw me in that hole. It's so disgusting and dirty now, not to mention how it stinks. Or maybe that's just me. My hair feels beyond greasy and I almost want to spit my teeth out at the feeling of how dirty and icky they are. I grab Dom's arm to halt him. He turns around and looks down at me with an inquisitive look.

"What's up?" he asks.

"Can we please do something about... this?" I ask and embarrassingly motions to all of myself.

"I can't deal with all the stares and glances I will undoubtedly get." I look down at my feet, feeling very self-conscious and like I should apologize to Dom for being so disgusting. He grabs my chin with his hand and forces me to look up at him.

"Hey, it's okay. Don't be embarrassed, I'm going to figure something out," he says looking intently into my eyes in an effort to convince me to not be ashamed. I just nod, still not quite at ease, but knowing that I can't really do anything about that right here where we stand.

"Okay, now come on, we really can't be late," he says as he turns around. Before I realize it, he grabs my hand in his and starts walking towards the airport at a brisk pace. I'm forced to drop my concerns as I have to focus on keeping up with his long strides.
