Mr. Kang, their literature teacher, stood at the front of the classroom, his passion for the subject evident in every gesture and expression. Despite being in his late fifties, he exuded more energy than most of the students seated before him. Jungkook and Y/N found themselves at the back of the classroom, with Jungkook struggling to stay awake while Y/N had already drifted off into dreamland, completely oblivious to the world around her.
As the bell rang to signal the end of the lecture, Jungkook couldn't resist a mischievous grin as he glanced at his dozing companion. With a playful twinkle in his eye, he leaned in and whispered, "Hey, Y/N, guess who just walked in? Taehyung hyung is here!"
Y/N jolted awake at the mention of Taehyung, her eyes widening in alarm as she frantically scanned the room. "What? Where?" she exclaimed, only to realize moments later that Jungkook was teasing her.
Jungkook couldn't hold back his laughter at her startled reaction. "Gotcha!" he chuckled.
Y/N's expression quickly shifted from shock to annoyance as she realized she'd been pranked. With an irritated glare, she pushed Jungkook's shoulder playfully, muttering under her breath." I hate you" she grumbled, though there was a hint of amusement in her tone.
Jungkook offered a sheepish grin in response, raising his hands in surrender. "Sorry, Y/N, couldn't resist," he apologized, his laughter subsiding into a chuckle.
After exchanging friendly banter and apologies, Jungkook reminded Y/N about their next class, P.E. Y/N, however, remained seated, her head drooping tiredly.
Jungkook glanced over at Y/N, who was still slouched in her seat, her eyes barely open. "Come on, Y/N," he urged, nudging her gently. "We've got P.E. class next."
Y/N, however, remained seated, slumping her head back on the desk with a tired sigh. "I'm so tired, Jungkook, I swear, in my next life, I'm coming back as a turtle. They have the right idea – minimal movement and the convenience of carrying your home everywhere." she mumbled.
Jungkook couldn't help but laugh at Y/N's proclamation, finding her humor infectious. "I can see it now, you with a little turtle shell backpack," he teased, earning a playful shove from Y/N in return.
Y/N leaned in close to Jungkook, a mischievous glint dancing in her eyes as she whispered her usual escape plan. Her voice barely above a whisper to avoid catching the attention of their classmates. "I think I'm gonna pull the ol' stomachache trick again."
Jungkook sighed, knowing Y/N's tendency to use her stomach as an excuse to escape class. "Your stomach again, huh?" he teased, shaking his head with a smile. "You must have a magic stomach, always acting up right before P.E."
Y/N grinned sheepishly, not bothering to hide her mischievous intentions "Yep! It's a classic move and works every time" she replied, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "And besides, who can resist a cozy nap in the medical room?"
Jungkook chuckled, nodding in agreement "Well, just make sure you don't overdo it, We wouldn't want P.E teacher catching on to your little scheme." he advised "Go on ahead to the medical room. I'll let the teacher know."
"Thanks, Jungkook," Y/N replied gratefully, flashing him a mischievous grin. "You're the best."
As Jungkook gathered his belongings to head to P.E. class, he couldn't resist one final jab at Y/N's playful antics. "Sweet dreams, my little turtle," he teased, grinning from ear to ear.
Y/N shot him a mock glare, though her lips twitched with suppressed laughter. "You too, bunny," she shot back, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "Try not to run too fast and trip over your own feet." Grinning back, Jungkook shot her a playful wink.
As Jungkook left, Y/N felt a surge of energy replacing her earlier drowsiness. With a mischievous glint in her eyes, she decided to seize the opportunity to explore the school grounds a bit before her next class.
With her phone already surrendered in Taehyung's office, as per his strict instructions, Y/N knew she had to find other ways to entertain herself. She stretched her arms overhead, feeling the excitement of adventure bubbling within her. Pulling out a packet of chocolate cookies from her bag, she grinned mischievously, knowing that she had the ultimate snack to accompany her escapades.
Y/N felt liberated, free to wander wherever her curiosity led her. She peeked into empty classrooms, giggling softly to herself as she imagined the chaos that would ensue if the teachers caught her snooping around, humming a playful tune, Y/N skipped through the corridors, feeling like the queen of the school.
Settling down on the rooftop, Y/N indulged in her favorite snack, making sure to leave some crumbs for her "kookie" as she affectionately called Jungkook.
After satisfying her hunger, Y/N felt a pang of thirst and made her way downstairs to find a water fountain. As she turned to leave, her heart raced as she collided with Taehyung, her eyes widening in alarm. She knew all too well that crossing paths with him under such circumstances could spell trouble. With a quick mental calculation, she attempted to salvage the situation with a cheerful greeting. "Good morning, sir!" she chirped, hoping her voice didn't betray her inner turmoil.
However, Taehyung was not one to be easily fooled. His piercing gaze bore into her, and Y/N felt a cold sweat break out on her forehead. She knew she had to think fast to avoid getting caught in her web of deception.
"What are you doing here?" Taehyung's voice was stern and unwavering, sending a shiver down Y/N's spine. "Isn't it your P.E. class time?" His tone brooked no nonsense, and Y/N felt her knees wobble with anxiety.
Gulping nervously, Y/N summoned every ounce of courage she had and conjured up an excuse. "Oh, um, well... I, uh, needed to use the restroom!" she stammered, her voice shaky with nerves. It was a feeble attempt at deception, but it was all she could think of in the heat of the moment.
Taehyung's expression remained impassive, but his eyes seemed to bore into Y/N's soul. "The restroom is downstairs also" he pointed out, his voice laced with skepticism. "Why did you come all the way up here?"
Y/N's mind raced as she scrambled for a plausible explanation. "Uh, well, you see..." she began, her voice trailing off as she searched frantically for a way out of her predicament. But try as she might, she couldn't conjure up a convincing excuse.
Y/N, summoning the last shreds of her courage, blurted out, "Um, you see, sir, I have this strange affinity for this particular restroom. It's, uh, the ambiance, you know? Soothing tiles and all." She gestured vaguely at the walls, hoping her feeble excuse would pass muster.
Taehyung raised a skeptical eyebrow, his expression a mixture of amusement and disbelief. "Ambiance, huh?" he repeated, his tone laced with incredulity. "Well, I must say, I've never heard anyone wax poetic about a school restroom before."
Y/N cringed internally at her own words, realizing how absurd she must sound. But she pressed on, determined to sell her story. "And, uh, the one downstairs was... um, quite occupied. Someone must've been having a very, um, extended stay," she added hastily, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment.
Taehyung's lips twitched with suppressed amusement as he regarded Y/N with a knowing look. "Hmm, I see," he mused, He knew all too well the mischievous streak that lurked beneath her innocent facade, and he wasn't about to let her off the hook that easily. Despite his doubts, he decided to give her the benefit of the doubt for now.
"Well, just remember, next time you feel the sudden urge to admire restroom decor, try to resist the temptation, I don't want to see you wondering around like this" Taehyung admonished, his tone firm but not unkind.
Y/N nodded vigorously, relieved that Taehyung seemed willing to let her off the hook. "yes, sir," she replied.
"Good. Now, off you go," he said, waving her off with a dismissive gesture. "But remember, no more wandering around aimlessly. Stick to your schedule, "As Taehyung walked away, Y/N let out a long sigh of relief, grateful to have escaped his scrutiny – for now, at least. She made a mental note to come up with better excuses in the future, or perhaps to avoid getting caught in the first place.
