Jungkook sat on the stool in front of the doctor, his face pale and eyes filled with discomfort. Taehyung stood protectively behind him, occasionally rubbing his back to offer some comfort. Jungkook had already vomited once more since arriving at the hospital, and his discomfort was evident.
The doctor started by checking Jungkook's blood pressure, carefully noting the readings. "Your blood pressure is a bit low," he said, moving on to palpate Jungkook's abdomen. He gently pressed different areas, checking for tenderness or swelling. Jungkook winced slightly as the doctor pressed down near his stomach.
"Does it hurt here?" the doctor asked, looking up at Jungkook. Jungkook nodded slightly, trying to be brave but clearly in pain.
The doctor finished his examination and turned towards his desk to write the prescription. "Alright, Jungkook, it sounds like you might have a stomach bug. I'm prescribing some medicine and an anti-nausea injection to help settle your stomach. You'll feel much better after that," the doctor said while getting up and preparing the syringe and medicine vial.
He then turned to Taehyung. "Mr. Kim, please help Jungkook lie down on the examination bed over there," he said, motioning towards the sterile bed lined with crisp white sheets.
Taehyung nodded calmly, his protective demeanor evident as he guided Jungkook towards the bed. "Come, Gukkie," he said softly, his voice a soothing presence amidst the clinical surroundings. Taehyung stood by Jungkook's side, his hand resting comfortingly on his brother's shoulder.
The doctor approached with the injection in hand. "Jungkook, lie down and turn over. The injection needs to go in your back," he instructed. Jungkook, though not particularly fearful of needles, hesitated as the doctor mentioned administering the injection on his back.
"Hyung, not on the back," Jungkook murmured softly, his eyes pleading with Taehyung.
Taehyung leaned in closer, his voice soothing. "It'll be okay, baby. It might hurt less there."
Reluctantly, Jungkook nodded, trusting Taehyung's words. Taehyung gently guided him to lie down on his stomach. With a caring touch, Taehyung brushed Jungkook's hair away from his face, a gesture that always brought comfort.
The doctor proceeded meticulously, pulling down Jungkook's pajama slightly to expose the area. He wiped it clean with a sterile swab, his movements deliberate and calm. Jungkook tensed slightly as the needle pricked his skin, causing a brief flinch.
"It's done," Taehyung whispered immediately, his hand gently squeezing Jungkook's shoulder. "Just a few more seconds."
The doctor deftly removed the needle, swiftly applying a cotton ball to the injection site. He massaged the area briefly to ease any lingering discomfort before helping Jungkook adjust his clothing.
"All done," the doctor announced with a warm smile, his voice assuring Jungkook. "You did great, Jungkook. You should start feeling better soon. Remember to drink plenty of fluids and take it easy."
Taehyung nodded appreciatively, his relief evident. He lightly rubbed Jungkook's back as he helped him sit up. Jungkook leaned into Taehyung's embrace, murmuring softly, "Want to sleep, Hyung."
Taehyung smiled affectionately, planting a tender kiss on Jungkook's forehead. "Hyung will carry you," he whispered, lifting Jungkook carefully into his arms.
Together, they left the clinic, Taehyung cradling Jungkook protectively, his heart filled with a mix of concern and love for his younger brother.
By the time they arrived home, the early hours of the morning had already begun to lighten the sky outside Taehyung's window. He guided Jungkook up the stairs, the weight of his brother's slumbering form a solemn reminder of the night's events. Taehyung's steps were careful, each one taken with the intent of easing Jungkook into the comfort of their home.
