As Taehyung dragged Jungkook by the wrist, his heart pounded with a mixture of frustration and anger. He didn't want to feel this way towards his younger brother, but Jungkook had pushed him too far this time. His fingers tightened around Jungkook's wrist as he pulled him towards the room, the anger boiling over as he stared ahead, his jaw clenched.
"Stand here," Taehyung growled, finally releasing his grip on Jungkook's wrist, making him stumble slightly. Jungkook was a mess—his face streaked with tears, his body shaking as if the very weight of the situation was too much to bear. Taehyung couldn't even look at him properly. Every time he saw his younger brother break down, it hurt him more than he'd care to admit. But now? This time, he couldn't hold back.
"Hand me your phone," Taehyung commanded, his voice cold and distant, as if the words were coming from someone who didn't recognize the brother he had raised. Jungkook's trembling hands pulled the phone out from his pocket and handed it over, barely able to control his sobs. Tears were streaming down his face, but Taehyung's anger drowned out any sympathy he might've felt.
Taking the phone without a second glance, Taehyung's glare didn't waver. "Stay here until your exams are over. No phone, no friends, no stepping out of this room. Do you hear me? You've crossed every limit today, Jungkook. Every single one. Kids these days don't understand love. They take everything for granted"
Jungkook's quiet sobs filled the room, his chest heaving as he tried to speak. "Hyung... please...I—"
"Don't call me hyung!" Taehyung's voice roared, making Jungkook flinch. The elder's jaw was clenched so tightly it ached. His eyes, usually warm and full of care, were now cold and sharp as daggers.
"I'm not your hyung. If I was, you'd have never dared to pull something like this. Do you even know what you've done? How am I supposed to discipline other students when my own brother behaves like this? What right do I have?"
His voice cracked slightly at the end, betraying the depth of his disappointment. Taehyung turned away for a moment, running a hand through his hair as he tried to control the storm of emotions churning inside him—anger, hurt, and an overwhelming sense of failure.
Jungkook's sobs grew louder as Taehyung's words sank in, each one stabbing deeper into his heart. His chest heaved as he tried to speak again, desperate to make his hyung listen.
"I didn't mean to—""Enough!" Taehyung's voice thundered, silencing him instantly. He stepped closer, towering over Jungkook with eyes blazing in fury.
"You'll stay here until your exams are done. And after that—" Taehyung's tone grew colder, his words like ice. "After that, you'll be sent to boarding school. Away from us."
Jungkook's heart sank at the finality of those words. He looked up at Taehyung with wide, tear-filled eyes, his voice breaking as he begged.
"No, hyung, please! I didn't... I didn't do anything wrong! Please don't send me away!"But Taehyung's jaw tightened, his gaze unwavering.
"It's too late for that, Jungkook. I've had enough. I don't think you're capable of learning anything here. I can't trust you anymore. You need discipline, and clearly, we can't provide it."The unrelenting coldness in Taehyung's tone made Jungkook's sobs turn into full-blown cries. The ground beneath him felt like it had crumbled away. He had never seen Taehyung so angry before, and it broke him to know that he was the cause of it.
Yet, even as anger simmered within him—anger at being accused, at not being believed—his exhaustion weighed heavier. Seeing his hyung so hurt, so distant, pained him more than he could express. He hated the disappointment in Taehyung's eyes, hated that the bond they shared seemed to have shattered in an instant. He felt trapped, helpless, unable to fix what had gone wrong.
