The past few days had been surprisingly peaceful for Y/N, who had managed to stay out of trouble, especially when it came to avoiding run-ins with Taehyung. But today seemed destined to shatter that streak of tranquility.
Seated at the back of Mr. Lee's class, Y/N found herself wrestling with her math homework, her brow furrowed in concentration as the due date loomed ominously overhead. Taehyung's warnings echoed in her mind like a relentless alarm, reminding her of the consequences of failing to complete her assignments on time.
Beside her, Jungkook valiantly attempted to come to her aid, though his efforts were punctuated by occasional scoldings. "Y/N, how could you forget Taehyung hyung's homwork? You know how he is," he chastised, a mix of frustration and concern evident in his voice.
Y/N couldn't contain her frustration as she whined to Jungkook once again, her voice tinged with desperation. "I thought I could just copy from you in five minutes. I had no idea sir would give different questions to everyone," she lamented, her words punctuated by a sigh of defeat.
Jungkook let out a sigh, his expression reflecting Y/N's misery. "Hyung always seems to be one step ahead of us," he remarked, his tone sympathetic. "He knows exactly what students would try if they were given the same question."
Y/N nodded glumly, her shoulders slumping with the weight of her disappointment. "I'll have to be more careful next time," she murmured, her voice tinged with worry as she contemplated the daunting task ahead.
"What do we do now?" she asked, her eyes wide with apprehension as she glanced at the clock ticking relentlessly on the wall. The minutes were slipping away and completing her homework before Taehyung's lecture seemed like an impossible feat.
Jungkook's brows furrowed in thought as he considered their options, his gaze flickering to the unfinished math problems laid out before them. "How much is left?" he inquired gently, his voice laced with concern.
Y/N's heart sank as she admitted the daunting truth. "More than half," she confessed, her voice trembling with anxiety.
A heavy sigh escaped Jungkook's lips as he absorbed her words, his own frustration mirroring hers. But then, with a determined glint in his eye, he offered her a small, encouraging smile. "Let's try to make as much progress as we can before hyung's lecture," he suggested.
As lunchtime approached, Y/N found herself still nibbling on her notebook, her mind tangled in the web of math problems laid out before her. With each passing minute, her frustration grew, the numbers blurring together into an incomprehensible mess. She attempted to move on to the next problem, but her mind seemed stuck in a loop of confusion.
Sitting alone on the school playground, she wrestled with the math, the soft chatter of other students enjoying their lunch fading into the background. Meanwhile, Jungkook had slipped out to the cafeteria to grab something to eat, despite Y/N's earlier insistence that he not bother bringing anything back for her.
As Jungkook returned with sandwiches and Banana milk in hand, Y/N's tension eased a bit. Hastily, she beckoned him over. "Jungkook, help me with this problem, please," she implored, her voice tinged with urgency.
Jungkook wasted no time, settling beside her and attentively reading the question. With patience and clarity, he explained the right approach to solve the problem. Y/N focused intently, absorbing Jungkook's instructions. With renewed determination, she set about tackling the problem once more, her pencil moving swiftly across the paper as she followed Jungkook's guidance.
Meanwhile, Jungkook unwrapped the sandwich and extended it towards Y/N, a gentle plea in his eyes. "Here, Y/N, eat a little bit," he encouraged softly, his concern evident in his voice.
