After I told Avery what had been going on and about everything that happened with H last night we decided to take a walk around the compound seeing as we were going to be living here now and I hadn't explored much of it because most of the time I've been here I was unconscious in the infirmary.
The mess hall was connected to a big kitchen that also had a food storage area and there was a toilet block just outside. The front entrance was concreeted and had planter boxes with flowers which made it look nice. The path to the right of the entrance led to the road that went back to the boy's and H's huts and the restricted area, I had never been all the way back there before so I didn't know what was past H's hut, I was curious but I didn't want to test my limits either. Straight forward from the doors to the mess hall was the concrete road that, if you went left, lead to the 2-bedroom units and if you went right it lead straight into the town centre.
I followed Avery as she showed me where her and Willow had been staying which I guess now was going to be where I would be living too. It wasn't flash looking but it was comfy and already felt like home. There were two bedrooms, Avery had the first one and Willow had the second one, I was going to sleep on the fold out couch. Avery tried to argue with me about that but I didn't mind.
As we were about to leave to carry on exploring the compound there was a knock on the door, Avery and I shared a glance at each other, we both weren't expecting anyone. "I'll get it" She says going to open the door.
"Hi, just thought I'd come see what you kids are up to and if ya wanna go do something?" Nate asks coming inside.
"Umm you're more of a child than either of us" I slapped back at him and we all laugh.
"True" He agrees.
"What did you have in mind?" Avery asks "We were just taking a little look around but now you're here you could give us both the grand tour"
"Absolutely, follow me ladies" He said putting his hands on his hips, Avery and I each slipped an arm through his so we were linked together and off we went.
Nate took us down the back path to the entry to the compound, there was a security building which was where I was held the first time I came here. We kept walking and took the path on the left, this one was a normal dirt path unlike the concrete ones we'd been on before.
Behind the security there was a big classroom where some of the older people taught the younger kids basic stuff, beside that there was a playground where the kids could play and beside that there was the kids bunkhouse. There was a basketball court across from that where some kids were playing which was great to see them having fun. After that it went on to all the single huts and past that, through the fence was where the boys huts were. The boys and H's huts were in the restricted area, I'm guessing this was because they were the leaders and wanted privacy, I hadn't really thought about it too much every time H took me to his hut. We headed back to the main centre where we pretty much started the tour.
